Xerox 10K

OK, so who's running or will be there cheering? I know we have some elite athletes coming in from places like Kingston (right, Joanne?).

My wife will be running and I will be cheering. I won't have my RM shirt yet but I will be wearing my Orange Sugoi hat (as in avatar).

My foot was better today, I could even walk on it. Cycled for an hour around the area. I didn't put on my cycling shorts though and I was a little sore in the wrong places afterwards. We won 7-2 last night even though we had one guy sent off at the end of the first half. It's tough to watch from the...

I vote for the original stuff. The mock-ups look better than the photos of the other gear...maybe just a delusion but a Canadian one.

This year was 65 teams maximum and it was not full. One reason is the direct conflict with NCM has taken away so many runners and teams. And probably with the Bluenoser the following weekend. It has been full in the past with some unhappy teams not getting in. We have never had a problem, being an O...

Good article...puts together a bunch of all the "newer" ideas that have been written about. The only problems for an old fart are the added stresses on the body from plyometrics, increased speedwork and downhill running. I'm having enough problem dragging this bod through the training as it is!!! I ...

There is a write-up on the race and the course in our Events board. That should help anyone unfamiliar with the race (i.e. Joanne!!). The hill is not that bad at all.

I will be back next year. We are looking at putting in a team from Ottawa. It looks like this will be mostly different folks from those on the team this year. We ended up this year with 12 from Ottawa and 5 from Halifax due to the NCM conflict. One of the other Ottawa teams was in the same boat and ...

I guess I get to watch soccer again tonight. Just hope the guys don't suck like last week or I'll go to the pub at half time and wait there.

Physio this afternoon. Supposed to be a follow-up for my back but we'll focus on my stupid foot now....

Are the men's singlets really sleeveless T's (like the women's Fluid tank) or real racing singlets?

The toughest part can be the loose stones. They can be a problem on the sharp downhill turns at the bottom by the gate and again at the left hand turn towards the Navy base. Also on the whole of the "up" hill. In the past they have graded the course beforehand which only made the stones looser and h...

I'm with you. My tendon problems have come & gone for a year and are now worse than ever. I always take the long term approach. So, I fixed up my old bike, dug out the rowing macine, dusted off the weights, bought a wobble board (for rehab) and away we go. I'll be back on the roads in a while, j...

Yuesday is good. My wife is running the Xerox 10K and I'm on the d/l. Is the beer before, during or after the race...or all three? Doesn't matter to me!!

I'll wear my orange shoes. Well, they only have orange "accents".

I have to admit...20 years ago everyone said hi as they ran past. Now, people seem more focussed on their own thing or have their Walkmans (Walkmen?) cranked up. Nowadays I look at the other person and if they look back I say hi or give the official runner's nod. I remember one woman who has been ru...

No run today...again. My foot is still recovering from the soccer game on Monday that I should not have played. Looks like a few days off is in store to work on strengthening the old tendon (post tib) before I can take it out for a run. We'll see what the physio sayson Friday. Now where did I store ...
