Re: Running in Stanley Park

To me if you're in vancouver - run the seawall. So much to see. Your colleagues may be more willing to tour Stanley park and get out and see the sights and that may be a better way to do both. Just my two cents... prairie girl who loves Van City.

there's a holiday inn downtown that's reasonable... it's across from Chez Pierre but close to the train/bus and good price usually.

It's interesting how the mental game changes when you go longer distances. Great job, great report!

I had no idea how much you had to overcome. Congratulations on that feat which is incredibly impressive! You've always had the drive and determination so I'm not surprised you fought back to run this race again. Inspirational!

Re: Teacher missing after run

I remember that Edmonton missing young man, and also the missing soldier... :( But the missing soldier, Jason Anderson, (my former neighbour) fortunately was found and returned home...so at least there was a happy ending there. I hate to say it, but I'm not holding out much hope for the teacher's c...

Re: The runners wave?

I nod and I always say hello or good morning or hey.

I've learned that it's good for safety as someone will remember the girl who said hello better than the girl who ran past ... just in case I go missing, ya know?

Re: Too Much Bike?

I don't think hills make a difference when you're looking at TT set up. Learn to climb sitting down and in aero position... standing to climb wastes too much cardio energy you can save for the run.

Re: Buying your performance on the bike!!

You can't buy training so ill ignore that... Meh on the fit - it'll make a very small difference assuming you're already comfortable. Bigger meh on the skin suit - practically no measurable difference at the level you're riding at. In order; Disk cover - $100 and worth every penny. Clipless peddles...

Re: My nine year old son has pain in his knees!?

My boy had pain in his legs and we kept taking him back to the doctors and EMERG because he couldn't put weight on it until a very persistent doctor ordered up an MRI and we found out he had osteomyelitis (bone infection). It took a week in hospital with IV antibiotics to clear it up - luckily he di...

I had two cups fo tea last night and meh. I don't know if they weren't steeped long enough or what. Actually the jasmine tea was nice but the chocolate chai was just average. I love Zena's Gypsy Tea's Coconut Chai, Chocolate Chai and Fireside Chai and they are hard to replace.... HOWEVER, I want to ...

I got some kind of chocolate tea with some skim milk and agave. Very good! I might be converted! Also I bought a box of teas with coco chai, long life, forever nuts, organic breakfast, organic silk dragon and chocolate rocket.
