Well, he is my opinion: Is is a running group or a social group? While I understand that it is nice to run with someone, unless you always do easy runs or such, I would up the tempo a bit so that the conversation would quiet down a bit. I would be blunt, I tell everyone that this is a "no complainin...

I might have to take tomorrow off from running too if I am still sore.

I see ducks,

they are all over the Ottawa canal. They make a bit of a mess on the path too, so you have to watch were you are running.

Should I stayed in bed?

Not a good day for me today. I planned an easy 36k LSD this morning. Last week, I did the distance with no problem, my mother told me that I was "TheMan". First, at 7:30am go down fo breakfast. what! :x No oatmeals, I eat 2 power bars but that is not the same. No point asking Caroline, she is away w...

Running around the canal is amazing in the winter. The nice thing about it is that you do not have to fight the cars and the slush. I would suggest that you do your long runs around the canal. You could also join the Bank street RR runs on Sunday. You will be also amazed about the number of people r...

You have to be careful about running inside on short tracks. When you run on these, the inside leg will get more pressure laterally and the ankles of both legs will have to bend laterally, and the force increases with the pace. For a portion of the track on leg (I suspect the left one) will run shor...

I am an evening runner, and I run after supper.

I usually wait about 1/2 hour before running, but I guess everybody is different. Your body will get used to run after a meal.

OK, 3 honey crullers and one Boston cream,

average 220 calories for the Boston and 200 for the crullers. so total 820 calories

This is about 1 1/2 hours of running or about 15 km run.

Hope to see you on the canal tonight

I am a morning person, but I just hate running in the morning. I get up at 6:30am with no problem, but do not try to put any exercice clothing on me. I find that the best time for me to run is after supper, at 6:30 or 7:00pm, even in the winter. Hats off to people who can go out at 5:00am at go runn...

I did 36k at 6:50 min/km pace in rainy Ottawa. HR between 125 - 135 beat/min. I was quite comfortable till kilometre 32 where my feet were starting to ache. I finished the last 2km at 5:15 min/km pace because I was getting bored of running. Actually I did very well considering that I was "given" a s...

I try to wave but not always. I think it all depend of when you run. I suspect that people who run at 2:00pm on Saturday may not be so "hard core" and tend not to wave. I found that if you run in the rain, or at -30C, other runners acknowledge you, since they think that "you are as crasy as they are".

It is REALLY the reason why I check these.

I did not realized how much trouble it is for large breasted women to do exercises. She told me that once, she chafed so badly that she started to bled under the breast fold. Besides being embarrasing, it took forever to heal.
