Re: Jes inches closer to 4hrs in Hamilton

I guess you don't wanna go for the "hurt" in Ft Lauderdale, just before hopping on the ship for a 7-day cruise, in February, eh ??? :shifty:  I don't know if that's ideal...I'm not arriving till 7pm the night before after travelling with my toddlers all day  I was thinking it'd...

Re: Jes inches closer to 4hrs in Hamilton

If you can do as well as you did with less consistency in your training this time, then you're in line for an awesome next marathon and future seasons. Think about Ian's theory that you often see the real results of the training cycle in the NEXT marathon season. I know you're not planning a spring...

Re: 86 year old woman runs NYC then passes away

86 is old enough for me. And to go after running a marathon...at that age... bliss. My attitude may be skewed by watching my mother go through the ravages of Alzheimers though. I was sad when I first heard it, but then when I thought about it a bit more, yeah, I think I'd be happy to go this way to...

Re: Jes inches closer to 4hrs in Hamilton

That's the "thank god I can stop running soon smile"!!! I knew I was over my time goal, so I wasn't happy, but I was pretty glad to be done running. I'm a bit torn on which photo to have printed (I know, I could have them all, but I only have so much wall space). The bridge one or the fini...

Jes inches closer to 4hrs in Hamilton

So close! So bloody close!!! After running 4:05 at Ottawa in the spring, it looked like breaking 4hrs in Hamilton was possible. But then I did the silly thing of starting a new masters program with a heavy course load (and still working part time) in September, and I started missing runs. I maxed ou...

Though it sounds like Jes didn't really need you on the day. ;) Yeah, I know... :( but, I was there to hold her water bottle a couple of times, however... :shifty:    Yeah, that was really handy :D But seriously, it was a huge mental boost to have a friend with me...

I'm so glad I didn't see you again out on the course! :D I was keeping an eye out for you, but I was hoping not to see you --- you took off pretty quick at the start, never to be seen again. But turns out I wasn't too far behind you :D Sorry about your fall - but I bet Joe got some good photos of it...

I'll be there in some capacity. My MIL expressed interest in walking the 2k, so we might do that. Or I'll just run along the TTC like in past years.

Re: Do we really have a "choice" when it comes to our food?

Although this is on the topic of NYC's proposed Big Soda ban, the author makes some very valid points about how we really don't have much choice (real or perceived) when it comes to our food. The claims she makes in the second quote are American, obviously. I'm not sure what that looks like in Cana...

That's amazing! It sounds like this is going to be a really positive change!

Joe is going for a sleep study next month, for many of the same reasons you mentioned. A machine sounds like a pain, but if this is what's needed to get some sleep, then so be it!
