Re: David's Tea 2014 Advent Calendar Discussion

I'm a couple weeks behind. Sigh! I've decided to cheat and flip through the ones that I missed and choose one that appeals to me. I'm battling a bad sinus cold so I'm grouchy and tired. :( Christmas Eve was the winner and Santa's Secret is good. I'm not a big black tea fan but I don't mind this one.

Re: To flip or not to flip...

I don't flip but do an open turn and then push off. It's a pretty quick turn-over but obviously not as fast as a flip. During a quiet weekend group swim, Coach taught a few of us. I kind of figured it out but took a sinus blow from the chlorinated water during my first attempt. Phew! I think that be...

Re: David's Tea 2014 Advent Calendar Discussion

Do any of the regulars know of any easy ways to get the lids off the containers? I'm paranoid about spilling the whole thing each day when I open mine! i used to open mine on a piece of paper in case of spills. that way it was easy enough to fold it and funnel back into the container (or the infuse...

Re: David's Tea 2014 Advent Calendar Discussion

I should really read the thread more carefully re: difficult to open tins.

Meh to the oolong. I don't think that I even want to finish it but I'm pretty picky with my Chinese teas.

Re: David's Tea 2014 Advent Calendar Discussion

I'm catching up since I left the calendar at work and I've been dealing with baby pink eye at home. I've had vanilla chai before and it still tastes great. Will consume the oolong later this afternoon.

Re: David's Tea

Ordered one for me, one for Marg and one for Scrummie in case she wants one. I figure that with back to work looming post-baby, I will need all the caffeine that I can get. :) If scrummy doesn't want the one you have for her - I'll take it! Or - does anyone in Ottawa have an extra? Does anyone know...

I'm leaning toward Mississauga 1/2 but won't commit yet...but likely will before the next price increase.

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I'm not sure why this thread didn't appear in my unread ones over the summer. Strange! I'm a bit late to the party but we started stroller running with A at 6 months after the ok from our doc. I didn't feel comfortable running with the bucket on top as I did find it to be quite top-heavy and we have...

Ha!!! :) I'm just that important  Damn straight. Re: race photo. I think that by now Joe knows how to stay out of the dog house. Ha ha! Congrats...

Re: IM Lake Tahoe

A friend of mine was going to do IMLT as her first IM. She was pissed to say the least. She was warming up in the water when the official word came down. She said that the fire was set by an arsonist to make matters worse. She said that most of the participants aren't too happy with the options pre...

I did my 16k LSD. I ran the first 1/2 with my friend, then continued on. We had a lot of rain today so I got pretty soaked for the last 4k.

Re: More Garmin talk

Speaking of MEC and Costco - I highly recommend buying from one of these stores because they stand behind their products and will replace things beyond the one-year warranty. I've heard good things about REI too. REI also does the same thing with the products they sell as well and that is why I sug...

Re: More Garmin talk

Ah. I know that I didn't pay that much, but maybe that was because I sent them back my old one. You can pick up a simple bike computer for pretty cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The price that I was quoted involved me mailing back my old unit as well. I used to have a cheap bike computer ...

Pace clock since I hate swimming with a watch, but I have the big 310xt. If I had a Timex I'd probably use it for longer sets.

Re: More Garmin talk

You can get a refurbished 310xt out of Raytech with their repair service for cheaper than $200. That being said, if you are not using all the features something else may be better suited for you. Are you still wanting something that works as a bike computer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Rayte...

More Garmin talk

I have a 310xt on its last legs and a new one is around $200 plus tax. I have a birthday coming up and I will be using my birthday money to buy a new watch. TBH, I've never used the full features of this watch - just as a bike computer and running watch (pace, distance, time; sometimes interval prog...

Re: Toronto Maniacs: Can you help out?

Do you guys have any leads on running groups or small free venues where the couple might do a talk for fellow runners? They said that they would be interested in something like that. I suggested the closest Running Room as a start.
