Not all races can be PR's. Every race will make you stronger, either mentally or physically. This was not an easy race, but you will use it in future races. Enjoy what your have accomplished and leave the rest behind. Damn fine job. Now recover :)

Strider's Hypo-Half RR -or- Can you stand one more?

I registered for this race back in December, knowing full well that I would be running it two weeks after the Houston Marathon. This was the 3rd year for this Ottawa Race and the 3rd year I would run it; it is a tradition for me. So I had two weeks to recover, rebuild and taper for the race, which e...

Erin: yes you are allowed to wimp out once in awhile. :) Karen: Nytol is my friend. ;) I always keep some on hand due to long-term sleep issues. I take it about once a week, just to ensure that I get ONE good sleep! I have a prescription, but I have been using it ALOT lately so I was trying to go w...

Funny, not in a good way, I have had the exact opposite results. I find the number 1 item are the RED LED blinking lights, number 2 is Reflective Material and number 3 is the Head Lamp (unless it is blinking, but try running with that, makes me dizzy). As I drive around my neighbourhood, I have look...

Sorry, I won't be going. I went the first year, when the race ran from the Bank Street running room, but last year I just headed home. My primary goal this year will be getting home and getting in the Hot Tub.....ahhhhhhh
The food was good though the year I went.

I am one of the lucky ones. When I started running, and was getting serious, Mrs S was tolerable, but maybe a little unsure what it was all about. When I made the switch from evening runs to morning, it made home life a lot simpler. Fast forward to last year when she started running, she slowly got ...

Next week will be a TOTAL rest week, then 16 weeks to go until NCM. I have to start putting together my sched...
