Re: Root Canal Monday

Andy, 13 hours for the freezing on day 1 of my root canal, and 8 hours of freezing the next day. I also had lots of gum damage around the tooth from the clamp thingy that the rubber dam attaches to. That took a few days to heal and caused lots of eating issues, and resulted in an extra trip to the e...

Re: 2012 Tour de France - Spoilers / Alerts / Ramblings

I wonder if Hesjedal will drop out now that he has no chance of winning, since the Olympics are so soon. Garmin-Sharp has lost their two best chances due to injury. :(

Re: 2012 Tour de France - Spoilers / Alerts / Ramblings

I'm recording the Tour everyday so I can fast forward through the boring bits and rewind the crazy bits like the crashes. I'm glad for the 3km crash rule at the end, although the standings would be completely different if that rule didn't exist!

Re: What's for dinner?

Apple Dijon Kale Salad . Very enjoyable and I will make it again sometime. I used red wine vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar in the dressing (that's all I had) but it worked out and still tasted great. I make a variation of that dressing all the time. Only I use balsamic vinegar instead of red...

Running an hour from the store today. It's just a training run, but it's also a community fundraising run for the family of one of our run leaders whose 16 month old daughter was recently diagnosed with leukemia.

Re: What's for dinner?

I modified this recipe a bit, and made vegan tacos for supper. Instead of creating the seasoning mix in the recipe, I used taco seasoning because I had some on hand. I didn't use the ancho chiles that the recipe called for and I used sriracha hot sauce instead. I put it on a corn tortilla and picked...

8km in 46:43. It was extremely windy out, and I ran a hilly route. I pushed it quite hard on this run. I followed it up with a 15 minute ab workout.

Congrats on two speedy, great races!

I'm still chuckling at the thought of two water stations in a 2km run!

Re: Windy Wednesday!

I spent 3.5 hours in the dentist chair today dealing with part 2 of my root canal. Tonight, I plodded along for 6.39km tonight in 42:06, with a friend. We took a lot of walk breaks as both of us were not 100%. We did an out and back, and the return trip was into the wind.

Re: Homemade Lara Bars

I made Raw Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies this afternoon. I think they taste good, but I'm still half frozen from the dentist, so it was hard to tell. They definitely taste decent, but I don't know yet if they taste amazing. I had to add about 3 Tbsp of water because my peanut butter was from the bot...

Dentist/rest day for me. I had part 1 of a root canal today. It's been almost 7 hours since the freezing was put in, and it's still only about 1/2 thawed. I'll run tomorrow, after part 2 of the root canal.

Great outfit, Habs!

I`ve only been running for four years, so I`m finding this thread quite interesting. I started running with a clinic, and we had a 25 minute talk all about shoes in the second week since there are so many different options out there now!

5.68km with the beginner group tonight. I ran beside somebody who lost 100lbs by running, and has had 3 different major surgeries for Crohn's Disease, all in the last four years. Re: Inter-National Running Day Wednesday

Short run tonight - only 5.58km. My running partner and I watched a mother duck protect her ducklings from a rat while we were stretching. We also saw the teenage ducklings that were just babies a couple of weeks ago. They grow so quickly. We also ran past a deer who was nibbling somebody's garden. ...

8.89km run in 58:46, along the inner harbour, and along the water on Dallas Rd. The water was dark and ominous looking, but the run was good and the weather was fine, although a bit cloudy.
