Great job on finishing this when it got really tough.
Talk among the 25 kers soaking in the river was the same this year as last...."Sure glad I don't have to run another loop of that course! Oh those poor 50 kers"

Re: New this year at the ITT: 4 distances and bath towels!!
I've never run the course, but is it just me, or are they going to drop half of the 50 km field with the 1030 deadline for the 26 km turn. 26 km in 3 hrs 20 mins isn't fast, but I know a lot of BOPers run it slower than this.

While I think its great that Barrie finally has a half....once again, its a race on the water front. Nice area, don't get me wrong, but EVERY Barrie race is run here.
Hey...we have a new Mayor....see if you can't put a bug in his ear to let us race elsewhere.

AirForceRunner returns for more punishment, Creemore-style
2nd year running this, lets be frank, punishing event. I actually had no plans to run it, with the focus being more towards Limberlost. However, Spaff accidentally planted the seed, and I signed up later that day. Race morning...I was a little late leaving, so breakfast consisted of a banana and a g...

Re: Creemore Nears Cap
I don't like Chainsaw because he designs punishing courses. I really don't like Chainsaw because he puts rope assist sections and suspension bridges right near the finish. However.... I have nothing but respect for Chainsaw because the finish line 'experience' is far and away the best show in this c...

Re: Andy's Smith Falls Clasic Figure 8 5K (4.8K ??) Race Report
Andy, I ran this a few years ago, and we all measured it at 4.6 km, give or take a few metres. I actually emailed Somersault, and they acknowledged the short course and had planned to remove '5 km' from the race title. They said the race was to focus on all the bridges in town, not so much the dista...

You're a class act my friend. You have a gift for running, and to use it in this way, and in such a big way, means a TON!!
My sister is near the end of a long but losing battle with Cancer, so what you gave of yourself has granted you hero-status in our family for a while.
Bravo Zulu, Rob!!

Gosh BMan....don't bring yourself to this level. This guy is a trolling, and he's taken it to the sewer.
I never frequent the darksider forum, but stories of this have leaked outside of RM. That should tell you something about this guy. And I'm biting my tongue.

Short courses suck, don't they?
I kinda figured something was up when I checked the results...lotsa sub 20's there, WAY more than usual.
Great run nonetheless, and great attitude....instead of bitching about a short course, you instead use math to factor a true pace/time. I like that!

AirForceSon's first race report.
So my son competed in his first footrace last night, and I couldn't be a prouder papa. The Barrie Rotary folks do a race each year, and I noticed they had a kids race. For 2 yrs now, my son Will has wanted to 'race like daddy', but I haven't let him. I want him to run for his reasons, not mine. Rece...

Sure, bling is nice to win, but with a gal as fast as your are, I'm sure this medal would have just blurred into your collection.
You ran a great race, and you got to have fun before the start. WIN-WIN!!
Damn you're fast!

Thanks all. I had suggested the Triumph (from experience) and the Nimbus (my wife wears this), but I sent her the other models you all suggested (except the Hokas...she already broke her ankle once ).

A former student of mine shattered her ankle badly 11 months ago, and is very recently returning to running. Problem is, she has plates and screws installed, and has been told these are permanent, but they cause her pain when she runs. As a soldier, she can't just 'say no' to running. She asked me f...

Re: What? No Sulphur Springs trail race thread??
My plan for 2011 had me running the 50 miler, but after injury time/sinus surgery, my fitness level precludes me from even being in the same postal code during this race weekend. Unless something dramatic happens, I'll pencil myself into the 25 k with a very light pencil (but won't actually add my n...

It wasn't your garden variety gusher....more of an 'oozer'. 24 hrs later, and its still kinda 'oozing'. I have to do sinus rinses 6-8 times a day. Yesterday and this morning have been a bit of a horror show.

Before you continue, this race report might be a bit gross for some readers, so here's your choice to bail on the race report while you can. Still here......you were warned. Signed up for PYP this week rather impulsively. I recently had sinus surgery to correct a deviated septum and have some 'block...
