Primary Distance For 2009?
Not counting multisport stuff (and, hey, who does? ) what distance are you most ambitiously focussing on for 2009?

I voted marathon, but you don't have the option that will probably consume more focus (time-wise) for me in 2009: the mile.
2009 Highlights
Marathon - 2:54:05 (Mar 22 - Tokyo)
Half - 1:20:00 (Apr 26 - Hartwell)
5k - 17:09 (Acura 5k - Jul 19)
800m - 2:16.80 (York U - Jul 28 )

My training log
Why practice running slow? It comes naturally!

Since I'm starting 2008 running a marathon in January I have a feeling I'm going to be a bit worn out starting the year. I'm just not sure what I'll have left in the tank after that.
So, I'd like to get better times in my 5km and 10km. A sub 1 hour 10km would be an awesome thing to achieve this year! (I've run a 1:01 so I really should be able to do this!).

I chose half marathon, for a couple of reasons. I didn't snag a 1/2 PB last year, plus I think its my best time. If all things progress as planned, I'll be going for it at Mississauga in May.
That being said, I'll probably run more 25K trail races than any other distance, but that's not really a PB distance. If I do a fall full, it will be with the intention of beating my current time, but that's not a decision that I've made for sure just yet.
P.S. I just love it when we talk runnin' once in a while!

I chose ultra since I only have one race planned so far, and it's 50k. :P I'm still deciding whether to do another 50k in May, or a marathon, or maybe a 50-mile... we'll see how I feel after Chuckanut!

Or, we could do 30 K at TUR (maybe 25 this year?), 21 at Mississauga, then 25 K at Sulphur Springs, all in May. Your move.

Besides that silly multi-sport stuff, my running distance focus is going to be the 1/2 Marathon.
It works with my multi-sport goals for this year and my 'B' race is the Winnipeg Police Services 1/2.
