I'm going to be in Nuremberg Germany this weekend and next week. Can anyone recommend running routes that a woman on her own would feel comfortable doing?
Thanks,
D.

Can't help with that area, now if you were coming to the South could help. Generally though, there are excellent running and biking trails throughout the country. They are well marked and in the cities lit at night although running in daylight is preferred. Should be safe on any marked trail during the day. Enjoy!
Re: Running in Germany
I agree with Mike - Germany has great running/cycling areas that are safe during the day (lots of people out and active). I've been to the Munich area and outside of Berlin and really enjoyed both, I would go back in a heartbeat.
Enjoy your trip!

Re: Running in Germany
You have a few options in Nuremberg....depending on where you are staying....
- If you are close to Woehrder See area, there is a shoreline path called Johann-Soergel-Weg, which runs from the the Woehrder Weise (Park) along the north side of the river. (out and back)
- You can also, run the Woehrder Weise, its a small sized park, if you don't mind doing loops.
(Both of these options are easily accessible from the WoehrderSee Hotel Mercure, where they would be able to provide some additional guidance.)
- Another option is the Partygrounds at the Volkspark Dutzendteich (Community Lake area) in the southern part of Nuremberg. Accessible from the Dokuzentrum.
Nuremberg is quite a safe place, but as with anywhere that you aren't familiar with, be careful after dark.
Have fun on your trip !

Thanks for the info. But wait! there's more! Marseilles has just been added to the trip -- any ideas for there? I have always though of it as a white-slavery capital of the last century, so not sure how safe it is... Thoughts? I have 2 days off there, as well, so might go to Aix or something.
