Good luck Andy!

I am headed for a run after work today. First run after PEC so I am not sure yet how far I will go but it will just be an easy run.

Safe travels and speedy feet to all heading to Chicago this weekend!
Safe travels to any others visiting friends/family for the long weekend.

Got up early this am, felt like cwap but forced myself out the door for what I thought would be an awful t/m effort. Not so! BAM! A terrific 5K effort under my belt! :D (over 30% for October mileage goal!)

Safe travels to those going to races this weekend (and traveling to see family, for that matter).

For me... Took the day off work so decided to get up early and get a run in before ripping up the deck and piling some firewood. Decided to take our dog ('g') with me. Haven't done that in a while. I think she enjoyed it and had lots of energy to spare as she bolted towards a couple of squirrels (who I think were teasing her...) Just over 1hr 30 in Parc de la Gatineau. The first hour or so was in the dark with headlamp on.

Have a great day everyone!

Best of luck to everyone headed to Chicago!

Well, my spin class was a wash. The teacher never showed up! Ended up cycling for half an hour with the other gals that were there, didn't really have a plan, just cranked up the gears till I was dying, cranked it down, repeat. So, does that count as fartlek?

Joined a Zumba class for the rest of the hour. There were gremlins at the Y last night, as the sound system kept skipping during Zumba. Argh!!

Rest day for me today, have another physio session later this afternoon.

I'm off to the doctor soon to have my ankle looked at. Pretty sure it's ok, but my colleague was very insistent that I go get it x-rayed. Her BIL did the same thing a few weeks ago and had a fracture. It's still hard to admit it, but I won't be racing Sunday. But, my colleague will pick up my race kit for me. Maybe I'll still go cheer.

Sorry to hear about your injury, Angela.

The rest of you seem ready to go! The sunshine this morning made me wish it was not a rest day, but I can feel some fatigue in my arms and core from the strength workout yesterday, so I suspect a Rest Day will do me some good.

Have a great Friday, maniacs!

I've got my fingers crossed that you didn't break anything! This ankle thing really does suck.

Took the day off work to stretch my long weekend a bit further. Got up early (for a day off) and did 5k on trails- very nice. Looks like it's going to be a spectacular day here.
Good luck to all the racers this weekend!

Good luck Andy and all the best to all those racing in the Windy City. We are Victoria bound in a few hrs. Spent 2 great days in beautiful Vancouver - too much taper, sightseeing and munching. Will be picking up race kit later today.
Excited and nervous!

Have a great day and long-weekend everyone!

What a beautiful morning to run in the GTA! A nice 10 km at race pace, starting in the dark and finishing in the day light, looking at all the trees that are turning red and yellow and orange. Such a great way to start the day.

Good luck and safe travel to all the racers, and I look forward to seeing some of you up in Cumberland on Sunday.

Safe travel to all those in the air/on the road!

Thought that I almost did my back in again last night, the dog (100lbs) slipped hopping in to the car and I tried/did catch his back end - owie.

Funeral for work today, so all dressed up. I am impressed that I managed to find all of my uniform parts fairly easily - I don't wear my dress uniform very often anymore.

May try an easy spin on the bike trainer later this afternoon, just to see how things feel.

RA I hope your ankle is ok!
Hallelujah Cinc!!

2000m swim done this morning. I was sharing a lane and got kicked in the head. It was an accident and the man did apologize, but now my neck feels all kinked up.

Happy Friday!!

Ankle seems to be ok, as I expected. She said at this point, there is a 5% chance is it a break. After 72 hours, if it's still swollen like this, there is a 20% chance. At that point, I'm to go for an x-ray. I have the slip to go, so I've been ordered to keep my ankle above my heart until Monday. Then go to the hospital for x-rays if it's still swollen.

If you're bored, you can come over here... I'll be making pie later today and ian only gets one so there will be another one that needs to get eaten... ;)

no run for me today... the most I'll do is walking sammy to the kennel (about 45 minutes by foot). Then groceries, baking, packing, and hopefully early to bed!

Good luck to all of you in Chicago and Victoria this weekend! I hope to meet some of you at a race one day soon. Meanwhile, I keep pluggin' away here in soggy Québec. Did 38 minutes of running today, with just one-and-a-half minutes of walking. It was windy and cold. Tomorrow, I go shopping for new running shoes and some tights! :)

Ow, Ang. Fingers crossed it's just a sprain.

I did a nice 8.5K with 5K supposedly at MP. Not sure that 5:06 is my MP but it felt easy. And my marathon shoes arrived in the mail...a pair of new Mizuno Elixirs.
