Not sure if there is already a thread for this race.....??
Just registered tonight, and the hotels are already FULL!!! Got in with a CAA rate - not quite as good at the Bay Race rate, but at least I'm in.....
Who else is registering/registered??

Re: Around the Bay 2011
I'm not going to do the 30k next year but would like to do a relay; anyone interested in a two person relay with me?
Re: Around the Bay 2011
I've registered, luckily for the relay with someone who has family there. Should be awesome. I plan to conquor Hamilton. That city has done me wrong both times I've been there (not running related).
Just a tip, there's one hotel right off the highway, I think it's the HoJo, and their heating doesn't work. The Days Inn in the city - the sheets are nasty, have weird blotchy stains (we checked multiple rooms) and apparently, used to be a car dealership.

Re: Around the Bay 2011
Haven't registered yet, but will likely go back, and keep my ATB streak going ...
There is usually a bus / hotel load or two of people from Kanata, err Ottawa, who goes down every year ... The past couple of years it has been about $175.00 for the combined, shared-double occupancy, per person ... Let me know if you are interested, and I will keep you updated, once I hear from the Organizer, in the new year ...

Booked the sheraton way back, that's where we got engaged last year so I really wanted to go back!

Re: Around the Bay 2011
Running the 15km relay with my mom. I'm running the first leg. With a great off season I should be able to put in a nice 15km leg. And hopefully this year i'm not injured so I can actually run.
Re: Around the Bay 2011
I'm a definite "maybe." McShame & I were kicking the idea of this race around last week as a warm-up to a spring marathon.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Re: Around the Bay 2011
First half - don't get to cross the finish line.
- flatter, but uglier.
Second half - 15km - have to wait at a windy spot.
- hillier portion, but more scenic
With the 10k, I found waiting at the last portion a bit boring - though that part depends on the speed of you and your team

Re: Around the Bay 2011
After missing it for the past two years due to injuries occurring within a week of the race, I have opted for the 2-person relay with DoubleBellyBuster. I'm doing the back half so I can run into Copps. DBB had us registered within the first few weeks of it opening. He's a keener

Yes; the relays sooner than the 30K.

Re: Around the Bay 2011
I'll probably sit this one out, with the new baby due in January and it doesn't really mesh with my "focus on 5 and 10km" plan.

How long can I safely wait before registering for the 30K? If I lay out cash before Christmas for a race, Mrs McD may kill me.

last year the 30k sold out on january 27th. you'd probably be safe waiting until after Christmas. there's usually someone updating the RM thread when it gets close to selling out.
