Yah $130 does makes me think twice. Your examples of marathon pricing are much easier to swallow. I suppose the extra costs go to the higher operational costs of shutting down the Vancouver downtown core and Stanley park regions for several hours. Vancouver drivers are more likely to cross race lines and mow down runners so we need more policing.

I'm relieved to read that Van drivers are as likely to mow down runners as those T-Dot drivers...one of those tried to mow me down on the Marathon I ran there :?

There is an $80 Marathon in May in Abbotsford (40 miles from Vancouver) if you don't want to spend $130. If I was a tourist and had a choice, I would spend the $130 to see the many sights the City of Vancouver has to offer. Then again, if I were a tourist planning a trip, I would register early enough to pay only $90 like most have done in here. :)

I can run nearly twice the distance (50 miles) for $90, and the aid stations have m&ms! :)

Does "West Coast Hippie" involve smoking anything? Does it involve clothes at all?

I'm from Berkeley CA after all, so I know something about hippies.

Between Seuss offering airport pick-ups topless, and now this, this hoopla is really shaping up to be a wild & crazy event!
