Friday - Venus brilliant in the sky

Postby mcshame » Fri Nov 19, 2010 6:21 am

Wow! Venus was huge in the sky this morning, unbelievable sight. Absolutely no way to mistake it for a star.

Cut back my run from 16k to 11.8k as I gave blood last night. Also took it easy @ 5:23 pace with a walk on a path thru our bog. I'm not in training, so why not :)

Have a great day

Sorry but where I come from, the "bog" is the same as the "can" here. Nice mental image of this post....

Easy 5K last night and we start our competitive soccer tonight. First game is at 10pm this evening, which cuts into the post-game drinking time.

Tempo run this morning- 1.5k warm up, 4.2K @ 3:55 avg, then 1.5K cool down. Felt pretty quick this morning despite the cold air making my lungs seize up a bit.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

25-min run done on the treadmill, followed by some stretching and my PT exercises.

I was 5 minutes late leaving the house and missed my streetcar. That caused a ripple effect so instead of getting to the gym at 6:20 for a 6:30AM class, I didn't arrive until 6:35 and missed the class.

Good for you giving blood Lorne. I went on Monday too and you got me thinking that it might be why my speed intervals felt so bad on Tuesday...

Anyhoo, too tired to run last night so it ended up being a rest day.

Today is tae-box at lunchtime!

Have a good one

Damn! Baby slept in, and so did I...so I guess I missed seeing Venus. :(

Yay, Fridays!

The sore spot on my foot is still a touch tender, but not bad. Turns out a good tight tape job makes a big difference, so I'm resigned to retaping before every run now. Good thing I figured out how to do it myself.

Planned short easy 6K this afternoon, and rest day tomorrow. I want to be in good shape for the planned hilly 20K on Sunday with the ATB group from the RR. :D

6.5 miles on the TM this morning - approximately half the time at easy-ish pace and half as progression speed intervals. I was kicking myself for not running outside, though. According to the radio it was below freezing and I just wasn't prepared to run in that, but when we stepped outside our house the temperature wasn't bad. But too late to go back inside and change :(

TGIF and have a good weekend! Good luck to the Whitby waterfront racers and anybody else racing.

Holy winter Batman! We went from fall to winter overnight! Snow, wind, ick.

Planned rest day today but we have a spin-a-thon at work, so it will be an easy 60 minute spin today.

Have a great Friday everyone,

Pile of fresh snow on the ground today and -26, so like it or not it's the treadmill for me today. Going to try to hack it out for an hour or so over lunch.

bah - that is soooo Monday night...

good swim last night after work - switched Thurs/Fri swimworkouts when I read the descriptions - so yesterday was a 2500m set. Today is 2000m, in my awesome wetsuit!

A dusting of snow on some of the trail this morning. Also looked like a thin layer of ice in a couple of spots so took it nice and slow around the corners. Wind at my back this morning probably means a slog this afternoon. This is the first week in our new office so the commute has changed a bit: just under 2km shorter and a bit more biking in traffic but fairly straight forward.

Have a great day everyone!

Rest day for me--will do some stretches and core exercises, though. Oh! And flu shot today (asthma in our household).

After five days off I am ready to get back at it. Well, I did walk about a bazillion miles in Las Vegas :) 2000m swim planned for this afternoon. Happy Friday!
