PSA: Free Nike 10K run (Toronto)

Postby runshorts » Wed Apr 13, 2011 9:05 pm

Just sharing an event notice with you* - the Nike 10K run in Toronto. The run is a free event but you will still get the usual race swag and post race perks (note, this is a low key run and not a formal chip-timed race). The event is geared to women, but men are also welcome/encouraged to run.

Friday May 6 at 6pm at the Brickworks.

Under "referred by" my alias "Runshorts" is perfect.

Follow the link and select 'register now' (or Run Girl Run) from the options; it takes about 2 minutes to fill in the form.

*Disclaimer - I am a run leader for the event. And I also like free events.

I know you said that men are encouraged to run, but its called run girl run, its part of girls night out training series and based on the pics it looks like there were 99% girls, manicures and a running bra gift at prior events... I'm always up for free nike swag but not if its at the cost of feeling like the creepy guy at an all girls event (or if the swag is a running skirt or running bra).

You definitely won't be the only creepy guy ;). About half the run leaders are men and I do know of many men who have already registered, so you won't be the only one (but you will be in the minority). The registration form does ask if the registrant is male/female, but I'm not sure what that means in terms of swag. Either way it's a nice run along the trails of Toronto with food and drink at the end.

Excellent, see you there!

p.s. Good call. The Santa suit might cross the creepy line.
