Volunteered in my 5 year old's class today for Scientists in the Classroom. Fortunately I didn't blow anything up. Then I managed a mid-day 5K run in a new subivision, to take away from the usual country roads monotony. House is conditionally sold. I can't wait to move and actually have neighbours, and be able to run in new scenery.
Squish's 2014 Plan:
ATB 5K - March 30
Pittsburgh 5K - May 3
Guelph Lake I Sprint Triathlon - June 22
Peterborough Sprint Triathlon - July 6
Iron Girl Canada Triathlon - August 10
Guelph Lake II Sprint Triathlon - Aug 30

Voted--Hannah is at 67! Taking another day off running, to make sure the back isn't going to throw a tantrum. Had my flu shot today, and my arm is sore already. Beautiful weather here today!

5.3km done in a little under half an hour (no Garmin), first run with new-to-me BOB stroller. LOVE the thing!! :dance: A wonderfully balmy evening, but the pitch-dark by 5:15pm was kind of disconcerting. :?

9.08K done - beautiful weather, but sad to see the sun set so early. Much like Pinky, I left here at 4:15pm, by the time I strolled up the driveway at 5:00pm it was pitch black. Going to have to start taking the headlamps for Piko and I - I do not want to be rolling the ankle or stumbling across any critters :(

Speedwork: 5x1M threshold (6:01, 6:00, 5:59, 5:59, 5:56) with 390m jog recoveries + WU/CD for 14K. Also started to break in the shoes I might be racing in next month.

Last night, I managed 5km in 25:25 on the treadmill. Not sure if I have leg speed today...

30 minutes on the TM this afternoon, speed intervals (well sorta). It's been along time since I've gone for an afternoon run, it felt great.

Oh and I guess I better work on my training plan. :shifty:

After a day off yesterday, it was a gym session tonight with light cardio and upper body weight workout. After focusing on training for 2 half marathons recently it felt GREAT to do weights! But I feel so weak! In many ways I miss my days as a baker when every day was an 8-hour strength workout :roll: :oops:

Quick catch up:
Friday/Saturday - rest.
Sunday - 18k lsd that was super hilly and tough.
Monday - ended up being rest
Today - "6k" tempo (5.75 actual). Slower than I'd like, but I've been fighting heartburn since Sundays run. :(
Current PBs (not necessarily from a race):
5k = 28:53 - new goal 27:30 (was 30:00)
10k = 1:03:00 - goal < 0:59:59
10 mile = 1:38:59 - goal not sure yet, probably 1:36
21.1k = 2:14:09 - goal < 2:10:00
