Flying Monday Take II

Postby Engmomma » Mon Mar 05, 2012 6:27 am

Off again this morning.

May get in a short run tonight but I have had 2 good back to back runs this weekend. Not sure if I want to tempt fate.

I think rest is on tap for today. Legs aren't too bad but my back between my shoulder blades is sore. Maybe from all the coughing.

Just my morning chair therapy on tap for today, and a scheduled r&r day for me today, as well ... and, think I will likely be taking, as the Big Chill is upon us again today @ -18c / -28C windchill, before Global Warming kicks in on Wednesday ....

No travel for me this week! :D

After taking the weekend off completely I'm back at it this morning with a 8k jog before breakfast. This afternoon/evening I'll ride some hills.

10k planned for treadmill tonight. As I split my long run over 2 days last week, that means no rest day for me until Friday...

Sounds wonderful! Pass some hugs around for me! :D

Spin class and a TM run done this morning. Not sure what's up for tonight - I think a nice walk by the canal is in store!

Have a great day everyone :D

Just a 60 min spin was on the schedule, so I did that instead of unit sports (no freaking way I am playing sports and getting hurt up here!).

Okay, apparently part of the reason I didn't set a PB at Chilly yesterday....MIGHT have had something to do with having bronchitis.... Yep, the doctor I saw this morning has the foolish idea that I should take a couple rest days now. So if you're looking for me, I'll be buried under the covers for the rest of the day.

First outdoor ride of the year complete for 42k. Yes, it was cold, but it was great to be off the trainer!

Was a rest day on the schedule anyways, but not very restful! Felt out of sorts shortly after waking up - no appetite, lightheaded and a feeling of (mild) pressure in the chest. Called Telehealth and was advised to go to ER and get checked out, to be on the safe side. 5 hours, 3 blood tests, 2 EKG's, 1 bag of IV fluids, and a partridge in a pear tree later, my heart checked out fine (doctor described the results as "pristine") and I feel fine, apart from a bit of general 'coming down with a cold' feeling.

I'd been feeling on the verge of a cold for a few days, so I guess going out anyhow yesterday for my longest run ever and finishing it with a couple of killer hills, then immediately dealing with a rush of 'clean all the things, my mother is coming over', followed by too much junk food and too little rest/rehydration, was *not* my smartest choice?

I think I'll take a few extra rest days this week and then regroup.

Running rest day, but did 50 min of Power Yoga this morning and rode horse at noon.
My upper body is feeling it this evening.
Brrrr...it was cold, looking forward to double digit above freezing temps coming this week!
