First run back since last weekend. I got that horrible plague going around that turned into bronchitis. So lots of puffers, cough medicine and rest this week. 6k done at 5:47 pace with no coughing, so that makes me very happy!

Got through 14 slow KM"s this morning. I find it takes a lot of discipline to keep myself slow enough that my heart rate is within the boundaries it is suppose to be but I'm trying! Another week or two and then will re assess. By then this flu thing should have completely gone bye bye and hopefully my health will be fully restored. In the meantime I am out there running, building strength, and not adding stress while my body heals. This is good! boring ... but good! :)

However I could have lived without discovering someone (aka Hannah - brat!) got ON the kitchen table while I was out, took the lid off the butter dish and ATE THE BUTTER! then pulled the tablecloth off, knocking the butter dish lid on the floor and breaking it! Thank heavens none of the dogs got into the broken glass but why this dog thinks every table is an agility table (aka hers to get on) is beyond me! Time for drastic measures! May Maniac Mabel will have to dog sit!

It was great to have you join us for part of our run this morning, Marg .. 8) We dropped off Rachel at about the 18K mark, and Carml and Joan left us at approximately the 26K mark, after crossing the Alexandria Bridge, while Jes and I continued on Sussex before turning back, just after the Old City Hall ... a total of 34K / 3:40:xx lsd run ... Final lsd in the books, before a 4 week taper for Vancouver Marathon ... :P

eta: Ran approximately the first 28K of the new marathon course, and I / we really enjoyed it, relatively flat, and scenic for the most part, and the new 4-5K in Gatineau is actually quite an improvement for past years, and also, relatively flat, with just a slight bit of incline, at times, but lots more on the downhill grade, imo ... 8)

That's funny because at one point one of the spectators said something to me, I turned and acknowledged her. She had red hair and resembled you, however I didn't have my glasses on so everything was blurry, and I really couldn't tell.

I ended up meeting Stampie at granville island for the last 8k of his run, and Mary continued with us for a couple before she turned back. It was great to see her, although briefly. Bryan really rocked his 30k! Nice to run with you both.

Got out for some trail running in the Kingsmere section of Gatineau Park. Mostly #8, which is spectacularly hilly and fairly technical. Just over 7km... in over 50 minutes! Like I said, very hilly.

Had a nice 9k run today.

Later today we'll see if Vancouver finishes first overall in the NHL. I will not be disappointed if it doesn't happen.
