Up early and off and running ... to Ottawa that is to cheer on the runners at Minto Run 4 the Reach. Weather looks a lot better then last year!

Good luck to everyone running wherever you are today whether racing, out for you LSR, or out for a quick run around the grocery store :D

Group leading with the half clinic today in an hour. We're only doing 10k today, so I'm happy with that. My legs are a little tired from last night's 5k race. This run should help!

I love that my 23km run today is now considered a short run. I hope the weather holds out.

Done the 10k with the clinic. I led the back of the pack today. It was a nice, relaxing 10k. I find my legs are MORE tired and stiff today after running much slower. Maybe it's just from the race yesterday?

Good luck sunrunners! Good luck Turd, I hope the swim is inside! Happy birthday Charlotte!

I haven't posted in here for a long time. Ran 4 X4 and 1's with my Learn to Run clinic ladies, then decided to run home. It took me 50 minutes and 50 seconds, not sure how far, doesn't matter, just felt so inspired to run today. I had read that Dylan had ran a 2:10:47, and the excitement carried me down the roadway....
I'm proud of him, he got the job done, just in the nick of time.

Sore throat has progressed into head cold, it's raining today, and I have Monday off = postponing my long run till tomorrow. Exciting news about Dylan, and looking forward to reading race reports today.

I had a great long run this morning, 18K in 1:35. My IT band complained at the very end (EXACTLY at the 18K mark as it turned out) so I walked home about a km, but it's nothing major, just tightness. I'm happy to see that I am getting faster with the same effort I usually put into a long run. My running buddy works at Canadian Running and apparently Dylan Wykes was so quiet about his plans that they only found out when the marathon put out their confirmation list! I was glad to hear how well our Canadians did this morning. The women totally rocked it too. It's a good day! I hope Jwolf is channeling them as she rocks the SunRun course... 8)

Had a nice 25.1K / 2 hour run along the Canal this morning, the first 21.2K during the Run 4 Reach 1/2 Marathon in a time of 1:34:06 8) with an easy 4K cooldown to top it off afterwards, with Beth .... Unfortunately, ended up losing my Orange RM Buff this morning, as it apparently fell off while removing my throw-away shirt, just before the start of the race .. :(

Morning

Did a local 5k run here this am. 2 of my kids did the 1k.
I was a little disappointed, I wanted to run this and see where I was with my 5km time, but there were quite a few hills. 25:19 4th in my age group. Guess I will need to sign up for another!

Just back home after volunteering at Maniac water station at Run 4 Reach. Great fun and was nice to see so many maniacs that I had not seen in a while and meet some new ones! :D
Sad I had to miss Dimsum but when My Mom found out I was in the city..I could not escape..
So I had a nice visit with my Mom and now home to do some tilling in the garden and ride a couple of the youngsters.
Rest day from running, but will do my long run ( 16k) tomorrow.

Perfect day for the Sun Run today. Cool and cloudy and dry. I didn't have quite the time I wanted, so time to think a bit about my training-- not terrible though. 48:56 hard effort for 10K.

Rob had a great race for a "non-race at the end of marathon training." I'll let him report later. :) And my friend Darryl did sub-50 for the first time. Yay! I love this race. :)

Today's run was the end of Week 5 back on the roads for me. 5 weeks of consistent 4-5 days a week running. 10.4K in 1:05:34 for a 6:18 average (10:1s). I'll take it. Funny, the effort felt a lot faster than that, even with the walk breaks. Oh well. Good run in the rain. Rest tomorrow.
