Wednesday whirls away

Postby ceileigh » Wed Apr 18, 2012 5:14 am

Off to a 7AM meeting to plan our Renew with Rover bootcamp. This is a fitness program where you bring your dog. You work out and your dog gets exercised too and also works on obedience as well. Program starts in June, 3 days a week. That will keep me busy for the summer in terms of cross training!!!

MOving my morning run today to a lunch time run as 7AM meetings make it hard to get a run in early morning! Have a great day everyone! Mabel says hi too

Sigh...

Back to the grindstone.

Rest day, but my legs feel pretty good! Think I may be coming down with a slight cold though :? Running may return tomorrow if the cold does not blossom.

1000m in the pool this morning. I almost bailed on the swim when I got to the pool and realized I forgot my towel.

I think if I'm going to do tris again I need to have check lists on the door.

Morning! Forced rest day for me.

Yesterday I did about 7K (have to map it out and see) - bronchitis was a bit annoying but wasn't too bad... But last night I had trouble breathing, I'm guessing I pushed myself too much :shifty:

I hope you have a great day! Safe travels Tori :D Enjoy the show :D

I'm thinking of doing a short 20 mins run after work. Tae-box was hard yesterday even though I took it really easy...

And the metro was AGAIN stopped because of the striking students.... SO. FED. UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swam this morning and have a 10k moderate paced run tonight. I'm getting myself off the roads and going for a flat trail run! I'm still feeling tired from the weekend so it may be more of an easier paced run.

Did a 7.4 km with crash that totally sucked for me because of a sore toe and lung issues. Followed through with a 29:10 5km run with my ten year old son, so maybe the first one was a warm up? Sorry, crash..... :(

Walked for a half hour on the TM this morning and then did some upper body weights and a couple of ab/hip stretches. Work is still crazy (of course) but if I can get out of here at a reasonable hour I'll hit the gym for some time on the stationary bike.

I swear, runners are crazy, obsessive nuts ;) This morning my knee felt pretty good on the stairs, best for a while, which is encouraging. But - note - still nowhere near "normal". But there I am on the TM, walking, and thinking "Hmmm...my knee feels pretty good, I'll bet if I tried running it wouldn't hurt so much as it did when I tried a week ago, could probably get through it okay..." Yes, I resisted the temptation, but shaking my head at myself...

I have speed work on for tonight - 6*800s. Not sure which I'll do:

(a) drive to the track and do them with the run club
(b) do my usual 700m laps of the pond, where the 1/2 clinic will be meeting to run their tempo run (and will mean I lap them over and over as they all gather to meet to run)
(c) run it more as a bit of a fartlek with 800m bursts

I'm leaning towards (c) as I don't feel like laps today. Though that means my 800's will NOT be on flat ground.

I'm not sure what i'm up to today. We landed just after midnight last night from Boston and got home just after 1am.

Alarm was off just after 6am.

I've run 3 days in a row and I don't feel like doing that.

I swim tomorrow morning with my swim group.

My bike is ready to be picked up after servicing - so I'll get my bike. Maybe i'll ride it.

4.16K in 23:44 for a 5:42 pace. Bright and sunny, 9C with a brisk wind. Passed by a guy who probably weighed 140 pounds soaking wet (maybe less), who wasn't breathing heavily at all. Must have been his easy or warmup pace. Oh well. I'm happy to be under 6:00/km for any distance at all. I'm going to see the RunPubbers tonight, I haven't been in a while and I want to see Ms La before she leaves for London. :)

I went for (c), but not even 800s, just went one song hard, one easy for 6 repeats. Tough run tonight. Didn't feel great at all, but it is done.

Tempo intervals on the TM. Yummy fun. Think I could have gone faster on the intervals but these are the first ones that I have done in a while...

Rest day for me today! Had to take the little one in for her one year check-up and shots so I decided to give my legs a break in prep for Sunday's half.

I did a speed workout tonight- my regular running buddy had to bail so I ran with the faster group. It was OK, but they were so far ahead of me that I pretty much felt like I was running by myself. Oh well it gave me a bit of a push at least, it was better than being by myself. I did 5 x 1km, three of which were with a tailwind (4:00/4:05/3:58) and two of which were with a headwind (4:25- ouch! and 4:14). The slow one also involved a minute less recovery time, haha. It's good to do speed work again!

Run commute this morning but you may as well call me Pinocchio. Holy smokes my legs were not cooperating and literally felt like they were made of wood.
Massage helped a lot though.

2.22K with Duncan in 16:45, followed by 8.16K with Piko and Ørje in 43:08
One of my neighbours honked and cheered for Duncan tonight - perfect motivation :D
