Today I have 2&1s with J after work. I'm trying to take things easy so I can recover and be in full health/form in AB!

Thanks, folks! :)

Just doing laundry and packing today. I leave to pick up my friend around 4:45. Flight is at 8:40, but want to leave lots of extra time to get to the airport (and the friend I am picking up is 8K in the opposite direction of the airport, so I have to back-track).

Last night's final long run felt GREAT! I was planning on a 2K easy, 2x1K hard, 2K easy, but my "easy" paces ended up being below 6:00/km, and my two fast segments were 5:25 and 5:13!!

Took my new Seeya's out for their first run on a lovely sunny morning! Nice shoes. I think I like them more then the bikila's even! Nice easy 5K run in the sun this morning. Feeling good but still keeping things pretty easy. Felt like I was fighting a cold again yesterday do don't want to push my body back into illness but was a lovely run this morning! Off to meetings early tomorrow so it will be a write off and looking at the forecast I'm thinking my Saturday long run may just be a Sunday run this time around. We need the rain and by the looks of it we may get it but ... the weather guys are often wrong! However if they are right the Smith Falls run will be happy as the only break in the rain over the weekend is on race day Sunday!

Have a GREAT trip LA! I'll check out how it's going as soon as I wake up on Sunday!

For me - quads are still a bit sore. Probably could have run, but I decided to do an hour on the ellipitcal. Running will resume Saturday. :)

Morning chair therapy workout done ... K2J Fitness speed workout on the schedule for this evening ... I guess since all the Boston peeps are done, the rest of us have to wait until the workouts are announced now, rather than email updates ... :?

Andy, I was thinking the exact same thing. I like to know the workout ahead of time so I can give my brain time to adjust. I don't want to sit through a lot of announcements tonight; I want to get on with it as the few of us marathoners left will be out there the longest. I know, I'm grumpy. :( I think I am going to head to the track as soon as I get to the store and start some 1600's as I am sure there will be some of those on the menu! That way Chris won't have to stand around as long waiting for me.

Milers, you think?  I was thinking another round of those continuous 400's, to allow the Boston peeps the opportunity to take it easy ...

I will probably be doing a reduced workout tonight, with Vancouver only 2 weeks and bit away ... but, who knows, as this will be my final week of trainining of any consequence, as starting next week, everything will be tapering down quite a bit, than I am use to ... Will give this whole r&r and tapering stuff a bit more respect this time around, as I would like to be as healthy and rested for Vancouver, as much as possible ... :shifty:

I got a response from JR and posted it in the K2J thread under Training. No 1600's. Bunch of 800s and few 400s.

I think they dropped some names from the email distribution list as they sent out the workout last night.

Bike commute day today. Maybe a short run this evening. I have painters coming tomorrow morning, so I have to spend some time clearing a few more things out of the way.

Short and easy run for me today (4kish). This is our big choir weekend-of-rehearsals-and-concerts starting tonight, so I'm taking it easy on the running. Beautiful day here!

Ohhhh...where does it hurt? All the time or just when running? Have you seen anyone about it?

The only advice I have is to see a sports doc or other medical professional and find out what is going on. Depending on the problem and the timing of your race (Vancouver in two weeks?) you may end up deciding that you can't run. Yes, that sucks, and yes, that is a very, very tough decision. I made it myself exactly one week ago today and cancelled out of my race. Although in fact it wasn't so much that I made the decision as that my knee made it for me. The amount of pain during a slow test mile on the TM made it pretty evident that 25 more on pavement were just not going to be feasible.

Sorry to hear. :( Keep us posted.

Unplanned rest day today, slept very poorly last night with lots of bad dreams, and when the alarm went off, skipped the gym in favour of a little more sleep. I will probably do something on Saturday (my usual rest day) to make up for it.

Safe travels, La, and great racing on Sunday!

Ow! I did CrossFit yesterday and feel very sore today - or a truck came through my bedroom last night and ran me over. Hot Yoga and a short run after work.

A nice and easy 45 min run on the TM after work today.

Tonight will be a movie (Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), weight workout and checking to make sure the bar is closed (I am duty officer this week, woohoo).
