Weird foot Wednesday

Postby Dr. S » Wed Apr 25, 2012 5:53 am

Something happened to my foot at Tae-box yesterday. Not sure what but my big toe is a bit swollen and hurting =(

So will take a rest day even though I brought my running gear to work...

Have a good day!

Sorry to hear about your foot Sonia. I hope that it heals quickly!

I have a 7k moderate run in the books today, which I'll do at lunch. There's some sun peaking out behind some clouds in South Ottawa this morning. :)

Laughed out loud when I read the topic for the day! I have not time today other then this morning so 30 minute tempo run this morning in cold wet windy rain! Blah! VFF's and cold rain are not a match made in heaven (though my REI e-vent running jacket is!). Having injured my achilles way back in January it is finally improving and every run is better then the last :D so I was totally whacked to find my 'good foot' hurting. It was like the whole arch was stiff and sore and the foot would not flex right. I was thinking 'what is up with this weird foot thing' for the first 10 minutes of my run so when I read the daily topic  The pain went away once I finally warmed up and the rest of the run was really good. Hopefully it is just a bit of Wednesday weirdness and nothing else!

An hour on the elliptical again this morning, still feeling good. It is taking everything I have to wait until Sunday to try running but I am determined to do it. At this point I am pretty optimistic (so of course am also afraid of a big letdown if my pain-free status vanishes during the run).

Have a great day - beautiful sunshine here in the GTA.

Today was resistance training at the gym. It's my mid week rest of running, but I did run on treadmill for 10 minutes before and after to warm up and cool down.

Need to get back to work now. So busy lately. Have a good day.

My morning:
5:11am - alarm goes off
5:30am - leaving house/driving to Y
5:44am - arrive at Y and as walking into change room, think 'oh you have lots of time'
5:45am - realize that I've forgotten to wear or bring my Mizunos and the Sketchers casual shoes I'm wearing aren't going be comfortable for a run
5:53am - arrive back home and grab said Mizunos
6:00am - arrive back at Y and change room to quickly change
6:03am - arrive 3min late to my meeting time with M for a run

ugh.

but had a great 6.3k run with M in the mist/fog Hammie spoke of!

Then had enough time to get in the swim I missed y'day morning due to my sick day - got in 1650m.

Will ride tonight - maybe outside. maybe computrainer. but success y'day in changing bike tires (I even put on a brand new tire!) - painful experience, but good to practice.
Race Hard. Race Happy.

Have to join the daily thread … been nursing a swollen ankle after rolling it Friday. I usually don’t taper very well so it’s a bit of a blessing with the OUS season opener PYP 50K on Saturday. My best 42.2 came 2 weeks after a horrible 50 miler due to a knee pain. It’s funny how sometimes things that hurt can actually make things better in the long run

300m at T pace
2x50 sprint
200m at T pace

Hoping to get a run in at lunch, despite the dismal weather. Even if I don't, there's a work-out this afternoon. Whee!

Also of note: meeting Trixie, Ms. Smiles, IronColl and No-H-Stop-adding-the-H (sorry I forget your screenname right now! *awful blush* was super fun last night! Thanks so much for a great evening!
