Up early to beat the heat and the crowds. Heading out for 14k, and going to take in the Tall Ships on my run.

Good luck racers!

Didn't get a good sleep as our 3yo climbed into bed with us halfway through the night and proceeded to kick me in the back in his sleep for the rest of it!

Needless to say I missed my 6am scheduled long run......
But I plan on making it up on the treadmill as soon as DW wakes up and takes over kid patrol..
Have a great day everyone!! :)

I'm back. 14k done. This was my first solo long run in quite some time. I must say, I really enjoyed it. The Tall Ships were a nice distraction on the run! I think the HMS Bounty and the US Coast Guard Eagle are my favorites.

I have an 18km run planned for this morning. Every time I run that distance, I always think, "Wow! 18km? Really? Me?". It never quite gets old.

Update: 18km done on my own, on a beautiful morning. Whew!

Just back from 6km run around RMC point with the RR 10km clinic. Ran with someone who just moved from Halifax two weeks ago...we ran at the same pace so it was fun having company and chatting :D .
Now to take C-Moss down to the lake so she can get her swim in.

Nice day here but a little muggy.
Got a text from dh that he arrived safely in Trinidad at 1:00 a.m.

28 KM loop woodroffe-river-canal-back, plus about a 2K jog because I screwed up and finished my run quite a ways from my house. I am having a hard time with water on these long hot runs. I have a four bottle fuel belt but I find I run out easily for anything 25K+. I bought a camel back fannie pack this week but tried running with it for a few minutes and it just bounced off. Probably using it incorrectly but can't figure it out.

28k.from home to coronation park to watch the Toronto triathalon. Festival. I wanted to do 32 but I got to the park sooner than I thought, and there were too many people on the course so I called it a day. Saw Mark and Lesley! Both seemed pleased with their race!

took the puppy for a 5km run first thing this morning. I want him to be settled for the day because I will be out all day doing this: http://www.whistler.com/via_ferrata/

Have been looking forward to this for months--so excited! The weather forecast has been sketchy though... hopefully the weather holds!

Barely slept last night so the 8AM start I had planned was pushed to 9. It was hot and the freaking shorts of my running skirt kept rolling up. So, I had to come back home and changed at mile 8 of my 14 miler.... Did I mention it was hot? Anyway, I'm done and it's all that matters............... 12:30 min/mile average.

ultraslacker - so cool! hope you will pack pics!

running-in-ottawa - can you refill your bottles along the canal, or stop into a starbucks or library or city hall or running room along the way?

Great start to my day - I slept in until 7:20!!! 6 km for me this morning with the stroller - it was already crazy hot at 8:15! Then we hit the farmer's market for produce, treats, and to play in the park - and ran into friends!

The lake was very choppy and C-Moss was a bit timid.
I couldn't help but think back to the days when one of her favourite sports was to have me throw a stick as far as I could into choppy waves...she would swim out, retrieve, and then "body surf" back.

12 km on the waterfront this morning. First run in over a week (I really don't like running in the heat) and felt super sluggish. Then I ran smack into the Toronto Triathlon Festival and did I ever feel like a slacker then!

Now I'm just puttering about, getting ready for having to go to work for the first time in a month. Although time off in the summer has been AWESOME, so is a paycheque so yay for new job!

15km LSD, the first run since I returned from holidays. Now, back on the wagon, and up the training for this fall's marathon.

A sunny Sunday here in the GTA right now. Ran 15 km this morning down to the Toronto Tri to watch a few people finish (too bad I missed you, Lisa), then TTC to about 4 km from home and ran the rest of the way (figured by the time I waited for the bus, and rode said bus, it would be about the same time as to just run). Depending on how much it cools down and how energetic I feel, I may go out and do about 10 km this evening to bump up my mileage. And a double is good for training, right?

Congrats to all the racers today, especially those who set new PBs :)

Completed an Olympic distance tri this morning. Only my second race at this distance, and the last time was 10 years ago, so not surprised to have a PB.

((Jo-Jo)). It's hard to see. Earlier this year when our cat Sloopy was so sick, it was a glimpse at what he'll be like when he's old, and that was a pretty emotional thing for me. So I can imagine what it's like for you to have it actually happening. :(

That would make way too much sense! I guess I like to be self sufficient, and I don't like to stop, but you're right, that would be smartest.
