Steamy Friday

Postby erinmcd » Fri Jul 05, 2013 7:11 am

Wow- super muggy this morning. Did an easy paced 11K- on road up to the conservation area, then trails, then home on the road again. Lost a fair bit of blood to mosquitoes. Was completely drenched in sweat when I got home.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Morning!

Run commute! 16K @ 6:24 pace. I stuck to the main roads for the most part, as there was a chance of thunder and lightning, so I didn't want to be far from a transit route. In the end I got the run in. A bit wet at the end, but quite refreshing actually!

And here I thought running on the treadmill would be less muggy than running outside... Ha! I was wrong! It wasn't as warm inside as outside, but it was just as humid. I was drenched (still am, even after my shower). 5K done in 29 minutes.

Took the day off today, (late night because of Alice Cooper concert which was awesome...can't believe how good he performs still). Ran 7 miles outside this morning in the light rain...awesome.

That Alice Cooper concert sounds fantastic! I'm heading off for some kind of run or run/walk in the steam bath. I'll go to the park, but I'm betting the mosquitos and no-see-ums are going to chase me out pretty fast. But it's either that or be broiled running on the asphalt. Wish me luck!

For sure, muggy out there this morning during my 13 km run, but I did appreciate the cloud cover and the little bit of rain during the last 2 or 3 km. The temps and humidity are going to be brutal this weekend (at least by my not-a-summer-lover standards) so I'm thinking of doing my long run on Saturday night. After spending a good chunk of the day in the office tomorrow. Woohoo - do I know how to party on the weekend, or what?!? ;)

Have a good day, everyone, and a better weekend. Good luck to anyone who may be racing!

Back from a dripping run in the park of 5.25k. At least the bugs left me alone, and there was a bit of breeze.

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

18 Km. Looked like a storm coming, but then it slowly went away and only had a little rain.

Just 5K in the NCC Greenbelt for me today. Considering the temp and humidity, it actually felt pretty good. My shirt was soaked when I was done though.
