Soggy Saturday
. I'm about to head out for 12ish k in the rain to be followed by a soggy paddle. Yay, I've missed these crappy Saturdays what with all the sun we've had for the past few weeks.

Re: Soggy Saturday
I thought one rest day would be enough... it wasn't. Taking another one today. General physical and mental exhaustion... feeling somewhat better today but will take one more day off! So this morning I just took Sammy for a nice long walk (around 4-5km?). This loop might become a regular for me, though I want to measure it and make it 5k. :)
Today: my sister is bringing my niece over for awhile so we will go play outside. Then tonight is a friend's patio party (too bad the weather has changed now!).

10 miles outside today for me!
Re: Soggy Saturday
Rest day, but not really. Painters are coming Monday so all morning was spent purging and cleaning. Then I worked race kit pickup for the Spring fling 5/10k tomorrow.

Rest day. It is very cold here today. The Manitoba Marathon usually is the signal for mother nature to flip the heat switch and crank the humidity but not this year. Looks like awesome running weather if it doesn't rain too much.

Sunnyside Pool is open! First day of the season. Not very warm out, so I was a little worried, but it was sunny, and the water turned out to be lovely.
My wife and I did our usual Saturday swim schtick: I start running on King at Victoria and she catches the streetcar from there, and we meet at the pool. I had a ~5 minute head start, so the streetcar didn't catch up to me until Dufferin (!) and didn't pass me for good until almost Jameson. Not that my wife noticed – she was just sitting reading her paper the whole time. The route is 6.9 km, and I managed to do it in 31:02, aided no doubt by the cool temperature. Probably won't make it as fast the rest of the summer…
And swimming sure felt good after the run!
Warning, though: the boardwalk café is closed this year for refurbishment. The whole thing, just empty and desolate and collecting graffiti (which makes me pretty mad). They haven't really put up any decent signage explaining the closure, and I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed, because that place is always very popular.
