Likely about 7,000 people. I will be right behind you as the 4 hour RW pacer.
IMHO best running weekend in Canada. Great organization, good course, great city and fan support.
The longest journey begins with a single step.

Re: Ottawa Marathon 2015!
Just signed up, this is going to be my first marathon. I have a few half under my belt and i think that before i turn the big 50 i need to do this! Wish me luck!
Re: Ottawa Marathon 2015!
Good luck!
I'm also trying to get my dad on board to run. He hasn't run a marathon since 2008, he's now 65 and I think it'd be a great weekend. He was a 3:30-3:40 runner in those days (PB of 3:24) but now he needs a 4:10 for a BQ. I'm certainly stoking the fires in the right direction.

No argument from me that ORW (or NCM, or whatever people are calling it now) is the "jewel" of Canadian running events.
There are only two things steering me away from it this year: 1) the date (I'd rather run in early May than late May since I need to start training on my bike ASAP), and 2) the fact that it sells out early and I'd have to register sooner than I really want to.

I completely agree!
But I haven't registered. If my injury recovery holds up, and I can train to finish London, then I would love to do Ottawa as well. But I likely wouldn't be able to make that call until after London, and there is every possibility that Ottawa will be sold out by then. How's that for wishy washy?
The good news is that my DH's father lives in Ottawa and so if we just want to come up to spectate and enjoy the Race Weekend atmosphere and see some Maniacs, we don't need to do any planning other than make sure we have a cat sitter lined up. One way or another, hoping to be there.

Ran the full marathon last year in its 40th anniversary. Loved it - especially the 2nd half of the course. Well organized from start to finish. Signed up for this again!
