Two of my friends are riding across Canada to raise money for Sick Kids Hospital / Meagan's Walk, which raises research funding for pediatric brain tumours.
They left Vancouver on June 2 and just left Brooks, AB today (11 days into their journey). They're riding to Irvine, AB today, and they'll be in Medicine Hat tomorrow.

Cool!
Irvine is past Medicine Hat though and there is no where to stay in Irvine. They had a really crappy riding day today, raining all day.

Yes, I realized my mistake after I posted.
They didn't make it to Irvine yesterday. They had mechanical issues and had to stop in MH, so they stayed there. I think they were being billeted at a few places along the way, so they might have had a family to stay with in Irvine. When they were in Brooks, they were put up by the local fire department in the fire hall.

I can vouch for the miserable conditions. It was horrible driving in the car never mind riding. I saw about 8 cyclist total yesterday and felt bad for all of them.

I'm leaving first thing tomorrow morning from MB/ON border and driving all the way home. Where should I be looking out for the guys?

They had a "short" day yesterday (85K) from Portage La Prairie to Winnipeg because they had to have some work done on their bikes at MEC. So, they're heading east from there today (Tuesday). Not sure what their destination will be. For the most part they've been riding on the Trans Canada.
Following them on FB, it's unbelievable the number of people who have shown them kindness along the way. From free meals/drinks to Tim Hortons gift cards, to lunch with the mayor of Virden (SK? MB?), to home cooked meals, to people randomly handing them cash donations from their wallets. Canadians are awesome!

I was past Winnipeg by 7:30am Manitoba time. I was almost thinking they might have been further east already.
PS. It's Virden, MB

They had to wait for their bikes to be fixed at MEC, so they had to hang around Winnipeg until later. Not sure what time they got away, but they made the best use of their time by appearing on Global News!

I forgot to post that they're done! It took them 49 days to get to St. John's. They arrived on Thursday, finishing atop Signal Hill!
They celebrated in style by being "screeched in," kissing the cod and all that.
