Hehe, I'm racing tomorrow!

Postby jacob42.2 » Sat Aug 20, 2005 1:02 pm

I had originally planned a 21k training run tomorrow, but with the help of Heidi, I found a 10k race in Duntroon!! So I'm heading there tomorrow morning. I'll give a full race report when I'm done. Too bad I didn't know about this early...seeing as I powerd through a 10k this morning in 41 minutes. :?

Way to go sir....
HOWEVER, a 17 minute handicap in fairness to the locals is warrented for first place though as I am sure DUNTROON is not the running Mecca for Sub 40 min. 10k!!!!!!

Play nice Jacob!!!!!

Well from what I was told, the course is XC. Along a nordic ski trail. So it's probably a little hilly. As for the competition, he said that there are some 3 hour marathoners there...so ya never know. That and it's trail, not road...I don't have much experience there. We'll see, let you all know.

Cheers

Duntroon is about 15 minutes southwest of Collingwood.

Good luck Jacob (ha - as if you need it!).

Sorry I won't be there - did my LSR this morning so I could spend some time with my fiance tomorrow am (I hope I recognize him when I see him! :? ). Probably just as well. My ankles are whining a bit about the grade on the side of the road after this am, so they definitely would not appreciate a 10km trail run tomorrow. I don't want to risk injury before the Collingwood Half at the end of October.

Cheers,
Heidi

That's awesome, Jacob. :D I'm confident you will bounce back from your injuries.

There is a 90km stage trail race just outside Fredericton at the ski hill on August 27. I defintaly want to check it out. There is a 12.5km race as well - something I'm considering. You never know!

Is there anything I should be warned about for trail running? Hopefully your race report will give me some insight!
