as I was tracking/posting hali updates today, it occurred to me that RM should have a twitter account, for times like this! We can also use it to post announcements (like when the server's down!) and stuff like that.
Follow if you like, username is "rmnation". :)

Thanks-- I wonder why searching for the username doesn't work?

I don't know... that's weird. There is a setting to "allow people to search for you by email address" and I have that one turned off but I wouldn't think that would affect searching by username!

The Twitter FAQ wrote:If a search for your username or name on Twitter's Find People search tool returns no results, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
1. Your account is less than 24 hours old. It can take up to 24 hours to be indexed into Find People. Our engineers are working to reduce this delay.

Cool. I'm following.
What helps you disseminate the information to the followers? For example, if we are going to race with multiple Maniacs, do you want us to drop you a note in advance so you can follow us for the weekend and then we'll tweet you the scoop as we see in-progress runners, see finishers or see the results?
Sorry while a longtime twit, I'm old, new to such stuff and need the obvious chirped out.

I am fortunate to have Running Free as a sponsor. I like to keep silly stats and maps of my Daily Neighbourhood Tours, Races and Marathons run in a Silly Yellow Shirt.
Re: RM jumps on the twitter bandwagon
That would be great, IMHO. I was tweeting yesterday when I was home (since ultraslackerwas running), and it would be great to just retweet if someone else sees the action! I was coming to RM for my news to tweet yesterday.Double Bellybuster wrote:For example, if we are going to race with multiple Maniacs, do you want us to drop you a note in advance so you can follow us for the weekend and then we'll tweet you the scoop as we see in-progress runners, see finishers or see the results?

Re: RM jumps on the twitter bandwagon
yeah, retweeting is really easy, so if we're following you then we can retweet your stuff. For haliburton, I was retweeting all of spaff's tweets from the race course, so that was cool. :)
