280km drive and an overnight in the parking lot is all that stands between me a Hali 2010. The weather is looking great , a cool start somewhere around 7C but temps should get to 20C by the afternoon. I have been off all week and have had a ton of time to prepare and contemplate the race. I ran on Monday but haven't done anything physical since then. I have bit of a Knee issue since ITT so I am hoping the rest pays off . This will be my 3rd longest ever run! Last August I did 50 miles at the Dirty Girls, this year it was 120km. So technically this is my first ever 50 mile "race" so it looks like a PB is in order. Its really nice that everyone is so interested in the race but with 20+ Maniacs its has to be one of bigger gatherings of 2010. I am sure that Mini T will pass along as much info as possible but with the 40K out and 40K back I am sure it will be a challenge following the race. Most of the info will come around 10am at the end of the 25km, again around 1pm when the 50km is done then the big wave of 100 milers turning around and the 50 mile finishers between 5pm and 7pm. I am not sure what my plans are Saturday Eve but I may stick around for a bit after the race ... packed some extra Beer! Looking forward to a fun morning and afternoon and hopefully not evening in the Forest!

I'll start a new thread in the GRD but I'm really not sure how many updates there will be to share... since it's an ultra, people will be spread out, cell reception might be poor, etc.

Well? Whose running with their crackberry? 50 milers are finishing about now (17:21 EST). Come on! What's up? (Can you tell these injuries are posing me with a challenge?). On a personal note, blood results are all good. Doctor suggested Advil 3 times a day for a week to see if "joint inflammation" is the problem. Ran at a 4:30 pace for the first time in a year. Can you say arthritis??? Damn the torpedoes, I'm coming back!

A few more Haliburton 100 reports have been posted online, but not here.
Read some inspiring stories: Nature Girl's report and JD's report on their respective blogs.
