No time to run? Skip!

Postby QuickLittleLizard » Fri Apr 23, 2010 12:51 pm

Just a quick visit to talk about my newest discovery of all things old. Jump rope. :topic: ???

I didn't have time to run if I wanted to eat dinner with the famille.

A few weeks ago I found a jump rope with 1lb weights (removable) in the handle - at the grocery store of all places. So I tried it out.

Holy &$#@! I did 5 sets of 100 quick, boxer style jumps and I was huffing and puffing more than a run! My legs and arms are killing me today, the day after, and I never realized how intense that is!! I also like building up strength in some different muscles, too.

How did we do it as kids?!?

Anyway, that's my new adventure in body-stuff.

I bought a rope last year to take on a work trip. It was great! I never seem to use it now, but it was great for interval workouts in my hotel room, alternating jumping rope with squats and lunges.

Thanks for sharing. Sometimes I'm too strapped for time to get in a good run. I'll have to stash a rope at home.
