I broke my first goal since resuming running...

I broke my first goal since resuming running...

Postby RunByNumbers » Sun Jun 27, 2010 1:40 am

...but I have nobody to tell, because my friends don't feel the same way about running as I do. I'm 23 years old, male, and I used to run during my high school days, but I sort of stumbled during my first 4 years of post-secondary, so I haven't really ran consistently in that time between. I looked at my spreadsheet of runs and I noticed that my best mile back then was 7:14. Back then I put no effort into trying to get better, and I kind of just hopped along. Anyhow, I made a goal of breaking the 6:00 min mark and lo and behold, one and a half months into my new life as a runner I did it tonight in 5:52, so I'm already seeing drastic improvement. I don't consider myself a speedster (especially in sub-5 km distances) by any stretch of the imagination because I much prefer long-distance, but I'm happy with where I'm at now. Hurrah!
