Today I was out in my new shoes, and decided to put my stretchy 'tri' laces in them ( the ones they came with are kinda short).
When I came back, I had a really nasty sore spot on the bottom of one foot.
Could I have pulled the stretchy laces too tight ?
How snug should they be ?
Jeez, you'd think after all these years I'd know this stuff...
Stretchy laces

Re: Stretchy laces
I find that elastic laces can be quite a bit looser than you think and still hold the foot stable in the shoe. Perhaps the hot spot was caused by the laces too tight, or too loose. Easy to experiment and find out

Thanks Mark, that's kinda what I was thinking.
The experiment will continue...

Re: Stretchy laces
I remember my mom's physio warned her about stretchy laces for that very reason - he'd seen people do them up much tighter than needed, or too tight in certain spots, and end up with little foot injuries. Not to say you shouldn't use them, but should use caution.

Thanks to all - I loosened them WAYYY up and everything is working fine. Now if you could just do something about the heat/humidity...?
