LisaB's WPS Half report

Postby LisaB » Sun May 02, 2010 1:07 pm

I enjoyed this half marathon - it was my first time running it. Which makes it enjoyable as it's all new scenery but kinda' leaves me unsure of exactly where I'm going(although I just follow the crowd) and a "feeling" of how much further there is to go.

Lots of puddles to dodge (or splash through in some cases :? ) and a nice conversation here and there along the course. During the first 5km there was a gal running close that kept talking... I kept thinking she was saying something to me but she wasn't... not sure if she was repeating a mantra or singing with her music...??? lol Made me speed up to lose her lol

Oddly I find I do a lot of math when I run :shifty: or at least when I don't listen to music, which I chose not to turn on my ipod today. Guess it keeps my brain entertained ??

Around 18km my HR jumped up and I got a bit of a stitch but nothing walking a couple of times can't fix :) My toes are not very happy with me but overall I feel good!

I'm very happy with my time 2:01:08 (which is a PB for me by 9:52!)

So nice to connect with some Maniacs and share a gorgeous rainy day and breakfast after!

Congrats to all the racers!

Way to go darling. Great job, hugh PB. Not the best weather , but you over came. Sounds like you enjoyed the race. and as I proved yesterday that is when the PB's do come. When we sometimes set them as our goal, and don't achieve them we are disappointed. No disappoint for you. I can just see your beaming smile right now. Congrats ,and you betya I'm very excited and proud for you!!!!!!

A huge PB for you in the rain. Maybe we need to arrange for more rain and puddles for your next race?

Way to go out there today!!!

Great to see you and your family today. I do believe you've got a marathoner in the making there.

Way to go Lisa! I know you said you wanted sub 2 (next time) but that's a monster PB nonetheless! Congrats on a great run!

You absolutely kicked your PB in it's arse today. Woo hoo! Do not frown about missing the sub 2 hour mark. Next time....you have it in you.

Hey, PM me your email address. I have a cute photo of your son to send to you.
