Marg's Chilly half

Postby Marg » Mon Mar 05, 2012 9:39 am

Will keep it short and sweet.
Ran it in 2:08:20 under pretty ideal racing conditions.
Chilly was my 15th half marathon. I'm not learning much with experience though as I really did start way too fast for my current level of fitness and had to dig into a new level of deep to hold on to the end. But I am happy with this result because it is a fair result for where my current fitness is and at least I got a few KMs in with Carla. 8)
I really appreciated the fact that we had the awesome cheer teams we did and it was great to see you all. Colette and Joanne, hope we can make it a longer visit next time. :)

But race aside, I was able to connect with people that I really care for and spend some quality time.
To La and CinC, not much more I can add that you don't already know. <3 Glad you both pulled off awesome races!
Was really great to get an additional visit in with Jacqueline, Ed, Terri, Deirdre and Barbara yesterday as well as lunch with Lisa Purdy who is on a smokin trail toward Boston. A brief visit with Quickchick and Deanna rounded out making as many connections as I could in the short time I had.

The crazy month of travel has now stopped so I look forward to focusing on my training and time at home. Nemo had the audacity to snuggle with Mario last night instead of me.

Next up Montreal on April 29th and my goal will be to beat this time.
Chilly 1/2 - March 4
Montreal 1/2 - April 29
NCM 1/2 - May 27
Manitoba 1/2 - June 17
Army 1/2 - Sept

Nice race, Marg! Like many others, I'm very impressed that you managed to do your run training while traveling so much. I'm looking forward to some fun racing and pre- and post-race festivities in Montreal with you in April and of course, some runs before that.

Sounds like fun times, glad the travel is over (nothing messes with race prep like travel, huh?) and you had a good time in Burlington.

1/3 of a bottle (8oz) isn't really that much. In fact, I'd say it's the PERFECT amount! ;)

Yay Marg- it was great to see you yesterday, even though it was a brief visit. I love that you started out fast, actually- it was a very ballsy approach! I'm glad you had a fun weekend and that you were able to have a break. You have been going like crazy lately!
