Everyman Marathon Grand Slam!!!
Everyman Marathon Grand Slam!!!
Wow… long time no post!
As you know, 2008 was a very busy year for us. After Tri The World was done, Heather and I took a long needed break from all this running and tri’ing stuff to focus on resting, relaxing and repairing our bodies. Since we were bein’ all lazy ‘n stuff, we really didn’t have much content to share with a running forum!
Well that did not last for too long! Heather's mom decided that she should run a marathon before she gets too old. So in October 2009, we found ourselves in Austria, running in the “3 Countries” Marathon that covers Austria, Switzerland and Germany! We crossed the finish line with Heather’s SEVENTY TWO year old mom! What a day!
They say there is no rest for the wicked! With yet another marathon under our belts in Cornng New York, this past October, we have decided to head out on the road for another “awareness and fundraising” venture we have called:
THE EVERYMAN MARATHON GRAND SLAM”
Starting in April 2011, we will be hitting all of the marathons that make up the Marathon Grand Slam:
London Marathon April 17th, 2011
Boston Marathon April 18th, 2011
Berlin Marathon September 25th, 2011
Chicago Marathon October 9, 2011
New York City Marathon November 2011
We are hoping our efforts will bring attention to the charities we have aligned with for many of the races.
We truly enjoyed taking Running Mania on our Tri The World journey with us by posting up to date news, detailed race reports and photos of each and every race. We hope to do the same in 2011.
RM has already shown it’s awesome support for the EMGS. Anyone know these characters?
Strider and Mrs. Strider
Robbie T:
We look forward to renewing some of our awesome relationships that have been on hiatus for a bit, while maintaining those we never left!!
Great to be back in Orange!
Bman and Stella!

We'll be giving the EMGS shirts their first intro to New York at the NYRR 5 Miler on Friday. Pics to follow - of course.
Robbie - never seen you look so good.
Can't wait to see how you guys are walking AFTER the London-Boston double header.

That's what I thought, but with the 5 hour time difference it's pretty easy. I think they get into Boston around supper time on the Sunday - it actually does work. Crazy though.

How much is the "pay a little" part? Remembering that I am now a "SINK" and no longer a "DINK" ..

Tech! wouldn't let Bman do cotton. They are great shirts, use mine at the Gym and will be running the NYRR 5 miler in it.

Think that Bman should sponsor me, considering all the races I do ...
Surprised that he didn't add Goofy Challenge to his Tour .... Afterall, you are running through the World Stage at Epcto ...

Hey!
Ultra Monk: As Strider says....it is dooable!! (albeit, not ALL that easy, and not all that cheap)!
Logistics have been part of this project for months now. We figure once we are done the race it will be around 1:30ish. We will then do some media and also meet up with our teams at thier waiting place to say bye. We take the express train out of London to Heathrow.
We will then grab a shower/massage at the British Airways lounge before we fly out at 7pm'ish. We fly direct to Boston and arrive at Logan around 9pm. We have an Uncle who lives 2k from the start line in Boston, so he will pick us up at the airport and take us out to Hopkington for a few hours sleep.
Andy: Ummm....ask and you shall recieve! Lots 'o shirts for you to chose from... both cotton AND Tech! Funny concept though this fundraising thing is. Those seeking funds for thier causes rarely sponsor others with free gear, unless you kow a way to make money from THAT!!!
Cotton shirts are $25 and Tech Shirts are $45.....PM me if you are interested in one or two!

Well, for sure you would wear extra cute!!!
The techs are men/women. The womens are "v" neck and tapered, so they may fit a tad small.
The Cottons are unisex and fit normaly.
