Saturday at the Track
Saturday at the Track
I have a "track meet" this afternoon. And I have a cold (sore throat, stuffy head). Oh, well.
ETA: I'm scheduled to run the mile, the 3000m and the 4x400m relay. I may pass on the relay (pun not intended ).
It's beautiful outside today - warm, sunny, but very windy.

Treadmill again, though it's nice outside – just wanted to watch the Olympics while there's still some to watch! (Not the hockey, thanks.) 7 miles (&$#@! US equipment) in 60 minutes.
Marathons: 1; 30k: 2; Half marathons: 6; Shorter: Um, I've lost track
PBs: Half-marathon: 1:35:32; 5K: 19:54 (both 2012)

Good luck at the track meet La!
24k @ 6:15 pace. Kind of happy with that considering the many icy and slushy spots. It was also quite windy in certain spots. Beautiful and sunny though!

90min on the indoor bike trainer today. Can't wait to take the riding outside and see where this indoor training has taken me so far.

Nice run around town with my wife today- 7.5K with a few 200m repeats to try to get her speed up a bit for the Boston 5K.
Keep on rolling, just a mile to go. Keep on rolling my old buddy, you're moving much too slow.

Re: Saturday at the Track
Crazy windy today, but it was a beautiful one for sure. I went pretty much straight north/south into a nearby conservation area, for about 12.5km. I'm not sure if it was the wind or the splitting headache I have been nursing all day, but I was slooooow! Oh well. I've been quite happy with my shorter runs lately- my pace is getting close to where it used to be- but as always, my distance is taking a long time to creep up. That's ok though, just gotta give it time!

Fun run at the Zoo with my 6-year-old. I was so proud of him! I expected him to run like... well, a 6-year-old (sprints and slow walking at random intervals), but he ran the whole 3 km without stopping. He's planning to wear his medal for the rest of the day.
PR's so far: 5K 27:15, 10K 55:25, 21.1K 2:10:53, 42.2K 5:21:27
Upcoming: Toronto Women's 5k in May, STWM Half in October

I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I'm going where I'm going and I'm already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory!

Congrats to you both!
30k for me in -16 (-20WC). Actually felt warmer, but very slippery with a layer of fresh snow. Leaving my house, I stepped off the curb and promptly fell . Apparently, it looked dramatic enough that someone driving past actually turned around and came back to ask if I was ok! 2 other near misses have me glad to just hunker down inside this afternoon & watch some more Olympics.

12K with the group this morning. Was a struggle from he start due to lack of energy and various sore spots. I didn't find the wind too bad but I was going too slowly to notice it. Anyway, it's done and in the books. Now for some soccer and beer.....well, soccer followed by beer.
