Sulphur Springs 100 Mile Race Report
Short version...ran (walked hills) 50 miles in 11 hours; walked (everything) mostly, in the last 50 miles in over 16 hours. Finished in 27:44:43 with Ken by my side! He was with me the whole last 60K! He can probably fill you in on my whining/complaining
Long version if you are interested, is on my blog. http://robinandamelia.blogspot.ca/2015/ ... l-run.html

Yes! What an incredible journey, Robin. You're made of some amazing stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I dig deep but reading your report makes me realize, I barely scratch the surface .
We train more joyfully and productively when we focus on the now, rather than on our future race day performance. It's a long road from here to there with many miles to go. We need to run each one. Accept where you are today and simply be thankful for the work you've accomplished. KA

Congratulations Robin. I had no doubt you would do it.

That's amazing. Your walking speed is the same as your running speed? 11hrs and 11hrs?

Sorry I wasn't meaning any ill towards it. I meant your 100miler alone is amazing.

Re: Sulphur Springs 100 Mile Race Report
Congratulations on hammering out your first 100 miler, Robin!! You are a tough lady, determined, disciplined, smart and you put your heart and soul in your running. I loved your race report. It reminded me of my first 100 and many other races where I had to dig deep to finish. Finishing is very empowering and intoxicating. I can see you do more 100s. Now that you know you can do it, you want to work on the fun details.
It ain't a 100 miler until you see weird stuff on the trail!
Rest up and enjoy the summer. Hope to see you at other ultra events in the Ontario Series.

Many have said it but I will repeat it. This achievement was awesome. It is supremely difficult under good conditions. With the various issues you had to contend with, this was even more amazing. Most people would have quit many times. I have nothing but admiration for your mental toughness and perseverance!! Congratulations!! BTW - don't age me. I am still a young 72 yrs!!!
