Saturday, October 07, 2017 St. George Marathon Up early ( 3:30 AM ) to drive into St. George for the shuttle bus ride to the start. 6 C with a nasty wind while we waited 1 1/2 hours for the start. Is "porch" an American/Texan thing? Habs always calls it her deck. ;) :lol: I say, "front porch" and "back deck." Porch is probably a California thing. Not really. I have always called a porch as such whether front, side, or back. We had a back porch on our farmhouse.

Many excellent tributes here. I was lucky to meet and chat with him at the Calgary Marathon a couple of years ago. He and I discussed the course and the difficulties of running different types of marathon routes. He was and is a definite inspirations for me!

After taking yesterday off and using chicken soup, cold meds, and Cold-FX - I felt better today. I was out for 1 1/2 hours of walk/run/walk this morning and went to the gym for 3 hours this afternoon. I did ease up on the tension settings for the elliptical machine and the stationary bike.

Coolish here as well. Under zero Celsius wind chill this morning. Out for a 10K loop on Conquer the Canuck trail course. The course is 8.33 km long. My friend Marco and I go lost accounting for the extra distance!

I was able to get in a 40 minute fartlek run bracketed by my usual walks this morning. This afternoon, I had a dentist appointment to get a filling replaced. I disline visits to the drntist. They hurt and are so expensive now!
