Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Congratulations, Jesse!!! We had our second in August; our older guy loves the new guy to pieces, but is not as pleased with us for paying attention to him. :-) But it's the sweetest thing to see them together. Good luck and enjoy! Congrats to you as well! Congrats on the new addition! :D yes - con...

And and, no matter what you do, cosleeping or not, breast feeding or formula, wearing or stroller, cloth or disposables, if you are doing it in the best interest of your child and yourself (and you are!!) then you are doing a good job. Us mommies can be too hard on ourselves and each other. Amen!

Not in K-W, but I was in Centennial Park in Guelph last week and saw two guys doing sprints (some of them backwards!) up a very large hill near the tennis bubble.

Re: Sporting Life

I think another huge factor is that the race is largely downhill! Especially the first half (which probably partly accounts for her splits being so different). And the second is very flat. I set a 10K PR there today and my training has been crap, so I'm pretty sure it was gravity that was helping ou...

My Tarzan boy: http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg80/ediwa/DSC_0529.jpg And, uh.... me as Jane. I had gone to Value Village and bought all the animal print items I could find to make his costume with. After we made Zain's loincloth, there was a lovely leopard print dress left over that happened to...

A wee and hot 3.6K. Getting back into it after a lazy summer. Used iMapMyRun app for the first time, then compared it to manual mapping online. Phone said 3.9K and route was very wobbly.

Re: Warrior Dash pictures

Great pics! Hope you don't mind, but whenever people ask what it was like, I'm directing them to this thread - nothing like real, in race shots. Pro shots don't really compare. Don't mind at all! fit-kitty, I saw several people (notably, all guys...) jumping in like that. Didn't seem to make a lot ...

Taking our new jogging stroller out for a run for the first time today. We got the MEC jogging stroller/bike trailer. Yes, we went cheap. We'll see if that was a mistake! We enjoy our MEC one, it's huge to deal with in the car though so it just stays set up in the garage! Super smooth and easy to p...

Re: Warrior Dash pictures

Terrific photos! What kind of camera did you use that could survive all that--not even the lens got muddy. Thanks, Avis. I bought a little Fuji point and shoot that is waterproof, shockproof, dustproof, and freezeproof. And apparently mudproof. They had two models. I chose the cheaper one and it's ...

Sounds like you enjoyed it as much as we did! We were in the 10:00 wave and the hay bales were already disintegrating, so I can imagine what they were like by 4:00. I'm completely impressed by your ability to run down those black diamonds!
