Jennifer, thank you. Jumping in at week three looks reasonable! Already running between 3 and 4.5 miles weekday mornings.
I have just lost 68lbs and eager to getting a 1/2 under my belt.

Re: Ooops ... Marathon win a surprise
Personally if it were me in 2nd, I wouldn't feel right about claiming 1st. She ran the marathon course, didn't she? Didn't cheat, cleared it with the RD? I would think I'd been beaten fair and square regardless of how the registration process was slightly circumvented. Agreed, the other reply’s see...

Yikes, just about to hop into to bed and realized I almost forgot my Garmin!
Sounds wimpy but I would fret through the 42km.

I'll have a purple Team in Training shirt on, which I am to pick-up later today at our team potluck dinner. We have a special guest speaker at this dinner that I'm so looking forward to meeting & listen too, BJ (Betty Jean) McHugh. BJ is a world record holder in her age group; she started runni...

Re: BMO Vancouver Marathon thread
When I ran the marathon in 06 it was windy and raining when we woke up. Rained until about 10km and then the rest of the day was perfect.
Looking forward to coming back!

Re: Do you manage your weight?
Do I manage my weight? NO. I wish I could though. I am extra, extra heavy right now. Here it is folks... 280lbs. Even when I was at my best a few years back I was still a whopping 240lbs. It is such a struggle. Last Feb I almost gave up entirely. 1.5 hours of mixed cardio and weights in the morning ...

Great photo's!
Looks like I missed a gooder.
I was kidding myself that I was going to be able to make it. I had been sick the 10 days prior and I thought I would be able to make it.
Ugggghhhh

Creating workouts on Garmin Training Centre
I searched but couldn't find any old threads!
Trying to create a 10 and 1 workout. (run/walk)
Can it be done without having to manually create each step?
Is there a way to repeat?
I tried the repeat function but must be doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Jay

Re: Convertable Stroller - Jogger/Bike Trailer/Stroller
Thanks Mike, think I found one on Kijiji last night. Comes with all the attachments.
This may sound like a dumb question but do you put little helmets on when using as a trailer on he bike and running?
Are there infant helmets? 7.5mnths???

Convertable Stroller - Jogger/Bike Trailer/Stroller
Does anyone have any insight? I am looking into getting one. Preferably a double. I was going to get on from MEC but the reviews are not that great. A lot of men say the handle is so close they bang their feet/shins. Thanks all, Jay BTW, we got our little guy last Thursday. Beautiful baby boy. 7.5 m...

Re: Who's registering for Melissa's this year
Has anyone bought bibs closer to the date before? I just wonder what my chances will be of actually getting a bib... I have participated in the 22km or the 10km for the last 7 years and I have never registered in Feb. I have always found an entry on RR forum or on the Calgary Road Runners Classifie...

Re: Melissa's: Mountain Bike excursion
I will be around that weekend. We could awlays load bikes etc into my truck and drive them up to the trail head past Canmore and ride down the Goat Creek trail to Banff... (19.5km) Much more enjoyable for those looking for an easier ride. I would be willing to ride back myself and get the truck afte...

Re: GPS Watches: Timex T5B501 vs. Garmin 205?
I just went to a GPS City store fully intending on purchasing the Garmin 405 and left with the 305 (with HR monitor) for $159.00. They are discontinuing them so the price is down. They are carrying on with the 310XT instead. Anywho... the lad at the store says the 305 will pick up a signal faster th...

Re: Thinking During Runs ....
For me it can be hours of simple math. On my treadmill I try to convert miles to km and visa versa I also get hung up on pace etc. I do the same when I am outside as well. I am not sure what I would do if I had a garmin? BTW my math is terrible, that is how I can spend sepnd so much time on this. Es...
