Saturday in the sun . . .

Just a shade under 12K for me bright and early this morning before the heat starts to pick up. Headed to the football game tonight, it should be a gorgeous evening!

Running club plus some junk miles for 23K. Our lake now has three tiny cygnets.

Slow 16K on the trails in Kanata this morning. Longest run in over a year and it felt like it.

Where abouts did you go Gimp? Are you running in Stony Swamp?

Survived - there was shade for all but about 4k and more breeze than expected so it was tolerable. The 500 m hike up the hill to get back to breakfast was tougher than it looked on paper :?

7 K in about 2 hours.

3.5 K and 700 meters of elevation change to the top of Prairie mountain and then back down.

12 miles done... on very tired legs. I think that's the only sucky part of ultra training--forcing yourself to run on tired legs when you just want to rest and eat! :)

No, today we ran from Halzeldean Mall, across Eagleson Road and down those trails to the TransCanada trail and East to Corkstown Road.

Yes, it's Sunday, but I ran this yesterday (season best):

according to Garmin: 22.54 km, 3:27 hrs., avg. pace 9:10/km, ascent 1230 m.

I can do better, pretty sure of that. It's a hilly course, some trails in Mount Royal park and adjacent regions, but I can
adjust to reduce the pavement and increase trails (much less pounding!). I've had to adjust my style because the daily
commute is 98% pavement - awful!

Nice to be back! :YMHUG:
During any successful session, one might and should have a moment of truth, "should I continue or just walk home?". If you don't break down, the same thing might happen a few hundred steps later, but you already dealt with that issue. This usually happens in the second half, anyways. The satisfaction one derives later, when at home, is extremely gratifying, and is a build up like no other to further efforts.

Cool, that's a really nice route! I'll often do that when I want to extend my normal 8K route and turn it into a longer run.
