Clear the Trails!!

Postby The Donald » Fri Nov 25, 2005 5:18 pm

I ran the "Clear the Trails" 5k last night. According to Garmin(yes I know that that is not quite accurate), I ran 5.3 km in 27:45!! That is a pb for me.

The run started slow as I had to dodge through crowds and walkers without running into anybody. Once I got out alone my pace picked up. The Christmas light displays were beautiful to look at, and I ran an average 5:15/km pace. Top pace was 3:05/km, but that was only for a couple of seconds as I did a kick at the end.

All in all, it was a good night and I enjoyed it greatly!

Well done, Donald. Perhaps you should be lining up a little closer to the front from now on.

I also ran the "clear the trails". I did not find "the Donald" despite looking for him. But, in my defense there were 500 people there.

Lights were great, very pretty and more displays than last year. I ran a nice easy 5km in 30:00. However, I ran 10 km's from my house to the start of the race! I took the lazy man's way home and hitched a ride from a friend.

Congratulations on a great race performance Donald!!

And size 5 -- 30 minutes is great considering you were actually heading towards 15K!!!

Good for both of you!!

Congrats on the good time at this event. It is a hard race to get any kind of a PR. I will see if I can find you at the Santa Shuffle next weekend. Keep Running

Nice race, Donald! Isn't it great how the endurance training gets you faster at the shorter distances, too? :)
