Re: Boston Registration HELP!
They moved the registration date this year to a later date to avoid the possibility (apparently realized) that you could run a qualifying time, but not be able to use it. The date last year for opening registrations was the beginning of September, but the qualifying window for the following year doe...

Re: Boston Registration HELP!
Glad it worked. I got the link from the Runner's World forum. The funny thing is that it's the exact same link that you end up at if you visited the Baa home page and were redirected. BTW, if people are thinking of registering, the RW forums are saying that they're at over 10,000 now which is over h...

Re: How do you wear your Pace Band?
From the picture, it looks like the dry-fit is fed through the plastic. Is the plastic next to your skin? Doesn't that *sweat* when you're running and get a little slippery and annoying? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v338/frankis/forums/RM/pb-back.jpg This is the back of it. it feeds through th...

you should have no problem if you're finishing the half in less than 2 hours. Last year, the pathway to the finish was fenced off so there wasn't too much in the way of problems with spectators. It was more of an issue for faster people doing the full who ended up encountering half marathon walkers ...

At the Chicago marathon expo, Nike was handing out these velcro closing dry-fit pace band holders. I've found it very useful. I make a pace band in excel, cover the front with tape to keep the toner from rubbing off on the inside of the plastic and slide it in. One issue I have with it is that it do...

Good job with the races! I'm pretty sure that most of the markers after the 4km mark were completely wrong. I also have my doubts about the first 4km also. I'm sure that the 8km marker was off by about 400-500m so i wouldn't put much faith in it. I felt sorry for you guys on the second loop since th...

Pfitzinger suggests that your long runs are 10 to 20% slower than marathon pace so you might want to start there if it's generally in line with what the predictors are suggesting. Start out at 15% faster than your long run pace and adjust accordingly to how you feel. Marathon pace runs give you conf...

I gave blood two weeks after my last marathon and i generally agree that you can get through a long run okay a few days after, but the LT and VO2Max workouts are very tough to do for a few weeks. I did a 5k race (last saturday) 4 weeks after the donation and i think I was pretty much recovered. I fa...

You didn't have to worry about me at the end. You finished a good 20 seconds before me. You smoked me in the second half. I didn't realize we went out so fast. I think I ended up paying for it in the end though. Kinda wished they had km markers cause I'm really bad at judging pace by feel. Glad I co...

Where are Frankis, Eljeffe and Mike Porter? I guess after their BQs they're just planning to get fat and lazy. Sad really... What's wrong with getting fat and lazy?? More fat just means there's more of me to love and being lazy means I get to eat more and watch more TV. Oh wait, I'm turning into da...
