+1
Was patiently waiting for him to start obliterating those 90-94 records. What a sad loss to (Canadian) running.

Definitely a legend due to his age group records but also for the way he conducted himself. He just loved to run and you never saw any "look at me" type behaviour from him. A real sad loss.
RIP Ed.

Awesome idea!
LOL at the English guy in 3rd, it was as if he couldn't contain his competitiveness not to get eliminated and then though "ahhh ****, I gotta run another lap".

Re: Race Trends
With all these races cropping up with gimmicks like throwing coloured powder, foam cannons, zombies etc. I am now drawn further towards the no-frills MEC and Run Ottawa free races. Just give me a closed course to run on and a time chip/timer and I am as happy as a pig in sh..mud. I am happy for peop...

You will get stronger and the ankles won't hurt any more/as much. In the mean-time don't over do it and ice packs are your friends.

Hopefully, there was not too much of a convergence between the speedy 3 hour or so marathoners and the lead pack of the half marathoners at Sussex, and last 3K along the canal, due to the earlier start time for the half marathon start time ... Hopefully, the Race Organizers will keep this as an ear...

.My husband (I know I shouldn't compare, lol) can go out running after months of not running and run faster and farther than me and I have been slowly building for months! I also take a long time to loosen up while I am running. I usually run 6 days a week with the occasional week being 5 times. Do...

Not only that, you get yourself a Boston jacket, you get to go home and go to hang around the start/finish line at every local race wearing your Boston jacket and work the word Boston into every conversation. BQer: What kind of donuts do you have? Tim Horton employee: Err....maple dip...Boston crea...

Re: Just in Time for Boston--There are cheaters in your mids
I just don't get the cheater mindset. Why? Why bother, the joy must be so short lived and hollow. It's like a guy I play golf with, why not just play the ball as it lies and count all your strokes, surely breaking 90 the honest way is much more of an achievement than foot-wedging etc. It only affect...

How awful! I am sure this will be deeply felt by many on here who brave the conditions in winter to go running.

Re: Gatineau Park & Ottawa area trail runs - Add yours!
Hello, I'll be visiting family in Ottawa this weekend for Thanksgiving and should have time to fit in a 20km or so. Never been to Gatineau Park, is there a go-to trail for something extremely hilly and technical? If someone could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated! Thanks, Mo ...

I'm doing the 30km MEC race in Gatineau Park on the 19th. Ventured in twice: 1) 16km encompassing most of the 1st half of the race course. Parked at Camp Fortune and headed up #4 to #1 (east) then it's the awesome gnarly trails of #8 and #17 before returning to #1 to Shilly Shally, turn around and b...

Re: Gatineau Park & Ottawa area trail runs - Add yours!
I'm camping with my family at Lac Phillipe in August- any suggestions on good trails right from the campground? I prefer nasty & technical over smooth trails. Looking at the trail map, most trails around there seem to be easy ones. Looks like your best bet would be taking #54 to Lac Lusk near t...

Looks like he got away with it. LVM cleared him because they couldn't prove he didn't run.
Looks like they took the easy route, a charity race doesn't need a lawsuit and the number of enraged people is low compared to most of the running community who either don't know about it or don't care.

Brilliant! Well done. Looks like you had the race I was hoping to have. Your splits are incredible as those rollers and long climbs in Rockliffe barely affected you.
Congrats!
