Re: Sucre a la creme (sugar cream fudge)
I managed to be the one to screw this up last year, but I am going to give it another shot today... I edited the recipe in red! I think that might have been why yours wasn't great last year! it's in the pan right now and looks promising. This time I put the icing sugar into the bottom of the kitche...

I liked the Gogi Pop. I put a little bit of brown sugar in it to take the tartness out of it

I thought the Sleigh Ride and Forever Nuts tasted similar. But the Sleigh Ride was a little too tart for my tastes. Maybe I oversteeped

Re: NY Marathon cancelled
If NYRR is waiting for insurance before moving ahead they are not using business sense. Then again I am not sure they are using business sense anyway. They promised everyone guaranteed entry for 2013 half or full. Half is closing this week (they have removed the statement about lottery results thou...

If you get massage regularly I want to hear from you!
Hey all! I am in the midst of writing an article about massage and run training. I am looking to talk to (and quote) runners that receive regular massage when training for an event. If this is you, leave me a private message with your email address and I will be in touch!

Re: NY Marathon cancelled
The optimist in me was wondering if maybe this way the 9+1 are given ONLY 2013 entry and the next announcement will be that the other will get entry spread over x years. This way 'locals' with fewer expenses re: travel will be funneled into the next year (there aren't as many of them and 2013 could...

Re: David's Tea December Advent Calendar
Ack! I am getting behind! My glitter and gold wasn't sparkly. Pout. I haven't had a chance to try creme brulee or today's breakfast tea yet. I made two cup of the Glitter and Gold and the first one I made in a David's Tea Bag and the second one I made using a tea ball strainer. The second one was g...

Re: David's Tea December Advent Calendar
Glitter and Gold: LOVED IT. But I wouldn't have minded if the flavour were a bit stronger.
Creme Brule: Also loved it. I have liked all the Roibois teas so far, so I might have to take back saying I don't like that tea as a rule.
English breakfast: good, but boring.

Re: David's Tea December Advent Calendar
Didn't mind it, but wouldn't buy it myself. All I could taste in mine was ginger... no coco undertones or anything. When I make the second cup I will sweeten it a bit and see if that makes it more tasty for me.

Re: David's Tea December Advent Calendar
I added a bit of milk and it's really creamy! I like it, but I wouldn't buy it since the thought of drinking a 'stimulant' every day doesn't appeal to me. (Yes, I realize my coffee is considered a stimulant.....) Does this tea have more caffeine than coffee? It sounds good. :) Eta: I just looked it...

Re: PF.... I think
I suffered from this when I started a retail job during school and was all of a sudden standing for 8 hours a day (even if I was wearing running shoes). Two things helped (although it took a long time to clear up) 1) the strassburg sock. Totally unsexy, but very helpful 2) Birkenstock inserts for my...

I tried "Forever nuts" yesterday. I would have said, based on the name and smell, that I wasn't going to like it... but I tried it and LOVED IT!
The West end location here makes an iced latte using Forever Nuts that is apparently amazing.

Alpine Punch was pretty good. I'm not usually a Rooibos fan, so that's high praise from me
