Hip still hurts, but I will run.

85 minute swim, plus a 30 minute ride, plus a 45 minute run with some strides.

My days are all confused now that I work weekends and then get stretches off during the week. I spent all day Saturday thinking it was Monday...... :)

Light 3K this morning. Off to work this morning for 8.5 hour shift. Working with my manager that ran the 10 miler yesterday so we'll see what kind of shape she's in this morning :)

So, what do you do when you wake up at 5am and can't sleep, but the alarm usually goes off at 5:15am ? Get out of bed and go for a 5K steady tempo, of course ... :shifty:   It was nice and balmy at 16C this morning with a slight breeze .... Been a while since I ran in this cold stuff ...  :shifty:

Didn't end up running yesterday (Sunday) as I was still too sore from 4-wheeling, although we did do a nice walk last night to enjoy the cool-ish night.
4K done outside this morning. ( Before I woke up  , otherwise, I mightn't have!) It wasn't pretty, but it's done.

ick Monday. Not just any Monday, but payroll Monday. My most hated Monday of all :x

30min bike done while watching stage 5 of the TdF. I am so far behind. Not likely to ever get caught up before it's all over. Did catch some of yesterday's stage on tv and very sad to see Lance is pretty much out of it.

10min core done. Planning on a run after work, probably just 3km. I haven't run since Tuesday last week.

My rest day.

But the weather is too nice to rest.

But I've skipped the last 2 rest days.

But my legs feel fine.

I'm going running!

Cross training day for me. Will have to wait until tonight though! Usual 40 min elliptical and upper body/core.

There I said it - I have to do it!

Legs that want to run & good running weather are too good a combination to pass up. :D

We have different rest days, my 16k is on thursday. Erin, did you advance the schedule and drop some of the earlier weeks because your race earlier?

I did the 12 week, and also modified by the schedule by moving the days around. I usually do my long run on Sat, so I shifted the schedule by 1 day.
I'm also not following it religiously yet. My 12 week schedule officially started today. I decided to give myself some "run whenever I feel like it" time after the Ottawa Marathon, and it turned out I've been doing higher mileage than the first few weeks of the schedule anyway, so I'll probably keep that up for the next 2-3 weeks (and also miss some runs do to vacation travel & camping), then really start following the schedule in Aug.

Hit the gym this morning - a few intervals on the treadmill, and then some strength training. Finished up with the foam roller and some stretching.

Terri, I hear you on not knowing what day it is! Every few weeks Friday is my Monday and Monday is my Friday.

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.... I am SO cranky! :(

I'll be running on the canal path this afternoon after dropping my bike off for a tune up and a new seat post. Apparently, a component inside the post has broken causing the seat to swivel!

I'm feeling kind of tight/sore from my run yesterday. I did 12.4K (a usual route), with a bit of an extended walk break (400m at the 6K mark) before turning back. I think I need new shoes. :?

Rest day for me. After a 2 week period of our garage door gradually malfunctioning more and more despite my misguided efforts to fix it, my wife managed to knock it partially off it's tracks. Time to replace it I think so I'm off to make a few phone calls and assess the damage - to our bank account.

eta: this quote was in my runsaturday email this morning--don't know the source:

What we have is based upon moment-to-moment choices of what we do. In each of those moments, we choose. We either take a risk and move toward what we want, or we play it safe and choose comfort. Most of the people, most of the time, choose comfort. In the end, people either have excuses or experiences; reasons or results; buts or brilliance. They either have what they wanted or they have a detailed list of all the rational reasons why not.
