Well it's that time of year again when everyone starts thinking about what to do for the upcoming year. Not quite content to just race myself, I took on the role of race director in 2008 and now for 2011 am starting another new race. If you want to do a trail race we've got you covered from 6km to 12 hours!
The schedule for 2011 is as follows:
14 May - Manitoba Trail Marathon & 50km
16 July - Try a Trail 6km
13 August - Try a Trail 14km
1 October - Beaudry Lemming Loop 3/6/12 Hour
15 October - Try a Trail 8 & 22km
You can find out more at either http://manitobatrailmarathon.com or http://trailrunmanitoba.com
See you on the trails,
Dwayne

Manitoba Trail Races in 2011
I run distance because I want to be in good shape when I die.

I will have to keep these races in mind. I might have to look at the loop in October.

That looks like a nice line-up with lots of distances. Good luck with the races, dwayne! Hope they all go without a hitch.

If I can stay uninjured (knock wood) I am planning to run most, if not all of these.
Glad to read about the "snazzy medal".

How hilly are the marathon and 50k routes in the May race. I am considering running one of them, but i am not sure of my hill fitness. I have not seen too many of them since moving to Winnipeg from Hamilton in August.

There is about 1200' of climbing in the marathon and a bit more in the 50k. Only one hill is steep, the rest are rolling. The good thing is that being a loop course, you also have 1200' of descent!
